    JD 350D

Yeah we haven’t been building much in the shop this winter. Just fixing. Been doing custom bush clearing with our cat since Dec 1st. Also have our neighbor who we built our pulldozer’s with hired on with us with his cat. Pretty much one dozer in the shop all the time it seems. Dropped one...

    JD 350D

I’m currently looking at buying a JD 350D hoe. It has about 9000 hours on it. Turbo has been replaced recently along with the rear crank seal and a rebuilt head on the motor. The only thing I’m concerned about is the bottom end. We farm with all green equipment and we are quite familiar with...

    strait or angle blade

There were lots of angle blades around our way before. Straight blades have become more common. We had a 16 foot angle blade on our D6R LGP. Went back to a straight blade. We like it way better. Less maintience and fixing. Way better for bush work as the blade is closer to the front of the cat.

    D6R LGP Undercarrige Replacement

Going to be replacing the tracks and rollers and idlers on our D6R over Xmas. Just wondering if anybody can point me in the right direction to find the torque specs. Also have a few other questions. Should we be using anti seize on all the bolts? If we do use anti seize then we have to adjust...

    D6H Hard nose loose

Thought my cat would be ready to start bending trees over again today. Checked in on it. Apparently there are no bushings in Canada, they are coming from Waco Texas.

    D6H Hard nose loose

Well my friend called me to come look at my cat today as they got it tore apart. The news wasn't good. The bottom left hand corner of the frame is broke right off where the pin goes through.

    D6H Hard nose loose

I decided to let one of our local dirt contractors do it. They run a fair size fleet of dirt equipment and during the winter they do the odd job in their shop to keep their guys busy. Plus they are only charging $90 an hour also so they are quite reasonable. They figured about 15 hours to do...

    Another undercarriage question.

On my D6R LGP that we recently purchased the dealer told me that there were about 1000 hours left on the under carriage. They just put new segments on and also hard surfaced all 4 idlers with a mig. The hard surfacing disappeared in under 40 hours. It looked excellent but was a lot of work for...

    D6H Hard nose loose

So I'm guessing you need to split the track to make room to get in there then?

    D6H Hard nose loose

Just noticed today that the nose on our D6r is moving a bit. How much movement is acceptable? Can it wreck anything else? How big of job is it to fix? I got about another 65 hours of work left before I was planning on getting it back into the shop.

    D6r lgp

I was just reading a maintience book. In first gear the brakes shouldn't be able to hold it but in second gear they should.

    D6r lgp

Hey there guys....haven't posted in a few years. We got rid of our old D7G and are now looking at a D6R LGP. I'm sure this won't be my last post and there will be many more if I buy this D6. So we went and looked at a 2003 D6R LGP the other day. It has 11,000 hours on it The owner put in...

    D7g

Don't think it is cracked. When I looked at it last night the gears didn't look all that bad, but they still do need replacing. If it is cracked he would be replacing it. Our neighbor who has had this cat has owned dozers for the last 30+ years. That is why I want to buy because I know the...

    D7g

Hi there everybody. I have been lurking here for quite awhile and have learned many things, but now I have a few questions. Our neighbor is selling his 1978 D7G and it is equipped with a ripper (no teeth in it) canopy and sweeps, and twin tilts. This machine has been basically rebuilt over...

    My first backhoe - 580B

The first backhoe our farm bought wa a 580B diesel with a cab and shuttle shift. It also had an extend-a-hoe on it. I haven't seen any other B's with an extend a hoe. It was a nice little machine but to heavy on the back end.

Does anybody know a ballpark figure for what one of these rakes would cost new to fit a D7G?
