    Takeuchi TB53FR overheating?

Well I did get that smaller pulley installed and it didn't change the hot issue. The way the exhaust is with the muffler under the radiator is a horrible design from Takeuchi. They know better. Looks like I'll be rerouting the exhaust somehow. It's just a bad design. When talking w Takeuchi they...

Peterbilt 379 Flat Top lowboy project

Hey JNB and Fservice, I just made a video of the "shop" on youtube. The shop is awesome so far. Can't wait to get down and dirty in/out there lol. Definitely doing a door in the side. The shipping container shop video is on You Tube. Also some more vids and more to come. One of those links...

Peterbilt 379 Flat Top lowboy project

Seacans? Took me a minute to realize what you were talking about. Tomorrow we're going to put the roof on I hope. Poured the slab Saturday. I have to say this new HEF picture uploading is great.

Peterbilt 379 Flat Top lowboy project

Thanks! Well the lock pin is a pain to release. So detaching has been frustrating. They say I need to grind the hole bigger. I figured it would loosen up but not yet. I've probably only detached 10 times so far and that's usually only if it's raining or un level. I've been using the rear...

A couple more. If all goes well I'll have these trucks forever. All pre 2000 except for the 6NZ I put in the 379.

Peterbilt 379 Flat Top lowboy project

Well the 379 is not done, but it will be real soon. The lowboy was delivered in Jan. and the LTL got finished soon after. The LTL has been an absolute dream come true and a dream ride. We powered the 3406C up to about 600hp and with new Bostrom seats, I also cut the sleeper opening much bigger...

The LTL. Tore the whole truck down. Re skinned the back of the sleeper and cut in a Peterbilt window. Had the rear fabbed up just like the Peterbilt. All 1" plate with a 50 ton pintle and 2.5" receiver.

Peterbilt 379 Flat Top lowboy project

How bout it y'all. I'm definitely not going to leave this thread dead. I hate when people don't follow up with their build threads. Time flies, hard to believe its been 8 months since I posted any progress. I've made decent progress but got hung up on this other build that I've taken on...

The one man show to grow

Thank you very much gentlemen. I was quite proud of the find. Smartass comments like this are why this will be last post to HEF. I was actually a little off in my excitement when I claimed 70mph at 17,500. It's actually 16,000 rpms 70 mph and 75mph was about 75,000. A huge improvement in my...

Thanks, LC. Just out there enjoying the good weather while it last  Well, hope everybody enjoyed their Easter! I spent my weekend driving across the Southeast to Central Mississippi. It was over 800 miles round trip and the search is finally over after years of searching. I've been...

The "not so heavy equipment" photo thread

Very interesting to me. In all my years I've only used tandem trucks for gravel. Thanks for sharing. I have to assume the pup haulers ask you about access and room to dump when you place the order. Edit: Had a second thought..... In a narrow limited space can they dump the pup out, then pull...

The "not so heavy equipment" photo thread

Looking good. You do keep that gravel in line and it looks good. Cool truck shots. That is so wild with pup trailers and dumping them. If it wasn't for the internet I wouldn't know those exist. How much can one truck bring? Case is looking good. Guess the snakes are out in March...great.

The one man show to grow

Well the 450 wasn't a huge loss. I mean I lost money overall but it sold for $7k more than I paid and I think the new owner loves it. The extra work on that dig came from 5' of build up if you look at the existing earth lines. Had to dig a big borrow pit to get dry fill. They hauled in about 7...

The one man show to grow

Nice truck! That's a heck of a spec sheet there 22k fr, locked up, 18 sp. 600hp nice....and Geez 205wb that's getting you in the post office. Truck makes complete since. Hate that you have to drive a bumpy inferno, I'd be so on edge. I've heard you can remove all that junk. Of course you...

The one man show to grow

Thanks, Jerry the 450 looked good from the side LOL. the front view looked awkward. Big Peterbilt update coming I'll say after selling those things. I have the toy hauler for sale now. Sold the RZR. It's just not an East coast hobby really, out West it'd be much more usable. I broke my knuckles...
