    John Deere 250 Series II

I was looking in my manual today and noticed for the hydraulic reservoir tank it mentions to remove two drain plugs. I only remember removing the one at the rear. I looked at my machine and it does have two but looks like the plastic tank has moved some and I would not be able to remove plug...

    Gleaner harvesting wheat in Montana

The N7 Gleaner and the John Deere 8820 Turbo was the only machines offered at that time in the late seventies that would handle a 12-row corn head. A Gleaner would run circles around a 8820 in corn although the 8820 was a very good and reliable machine. In my neck of the woods at one time there...

Got a wild hair, what do you think??

Nice looking machine you bought. That really does not look like the general purpose bucket to me. I have a 250 Series II and have had really good luck with it. There are Deere skid steers around this area everywhere. The very first 200 series machines had problems. The Series II addressed most...

best way to digging with a skid steer bucket

It all depends on the type of soil you are in and ground conditions. I always have had good luck with lowering the boom all the way down and gradually lowering the bucket into the ground while going slow. If you try to go real fast with the machine you wont give it a chance to dig in and bite...

    JD skidsteer hours

Like ksss, said I would go for a Series II or later machine Deere. I have a Series II 250 and I have been very, very happy with it's performance. Granted some machines do better in different applications than others. The old New Holland built machines where pretty good also. I would not be...

    Gehl Skid Steers

Actually Gehl no longer makes farm equipment. They got out of that field I think it was late last year. They are focusing only on Construction machinery now.

Terex a frontrunner to buy Bobcat?

I was just wondering myself if Terex would be interested in Bobcat. Another one I think would want Bobcat is AGCO. They have been buying up farm equipment manufactures for years. I think it would be a good way for them to ge there foot in the door on the construction side.

    Yet another CTL question

The Deere machines are very good these days. The early 200 Series had issues but once updated they where okay machines. The Series II and 300 machines are way better machines. I have a budy with a 322 CTL and he really likes it. They have real good pushing power and some of the best lifting...
