DT466 Cam Replacement, ball park price?

My DT466 in my 2007 4300 broke a lifter, which supposedly scarred the cam. The estimate came back high, at least according to others that I have asked about, but of course I gave them the go ahead as it's torn down at this particular shop. They finally call me today saying it's ready, but only...

How to change this roller bearing?

Hope everyone is doing well... Biz owner, trying to do a little mechanic work... I have 4 of these ball bearing roller bearings on my forklift, and one of them has crashed. It seems to be pressed on. Attached is a pic of one off of a different forklift, but exactly like I'm trying to...

Engine Oil for 3 cylinder Kubota?

Thanks Willie, That's what I was thinking also. I've been running Rotella in them for about 5 years... no issues yet. Will rinse and repeat.

Engine Oil for 3 cylinder Kubota?

I'm sure this is too simple of a question, but I just need to know... I have 3 Donkey forklifts with Kubota 3 cylinder. I guess I don't know much about crankcase oil, nor diesel engines. I've only changed the oil a couple times or so, and have used Rotella 15w-40 (or 20??), whatever the...

Int'l 4300 been sitting still for about 2 years...

Thanks for the help, Delmer. My mechanic determined the manual primer pump was leaking, supposedly, and replaced it. That helped, but it still stumbled and fell down on the highway. Then he decided it was electronic after his laptop would show it shutting down. He determined that a wiring...

Int'l 4300 been sitting still for about 2 years...

Hi to Everybody... been a while since I've been to the site. I see Steve opened another site, and after I get registered there, I may ask the same question, so don't waste your time answering both, but thanks in advance. I just purchased a 2008 (pre-dpf) International 4300 with DT466. It...

Terex 55-19 Rear steer not responding

Thanks Bobb and Voodoo for all the info... I got a new truck a week or so ago and haven't had a chance to look at this machine, but I really need to... Last week I used it several times and basically couldn't the rear steer to work at all. Will try to try your suggestions (despite my limited...

Driving a just purchased truck across state lines?

Just an update... LA state police guy told me that I'd be okay in LA, but I needed to get trip permits in other states... So I try to do that... well, I don't need a DOT# in LA, which makes it almost impossible to get permits in other states... GA and AL both told me that I was fine as long as...

Driving a just purchased truck across state lines?

Good thought, Orville. I may very well travel on the weekend... whenever they're finished building my bed, hopefully coincides with some bad weather here, or a weekend... something like that, anyway...

    Oil Pressure Question, DT466

    1. I've got a mild oil leak on the passenger side of engine. It's where a brass colored fitting screws into something, just above the oil filter. Tightened it about a 1/4 turn. Not sure how much more I can tighten it without breaking something. After the engine warms up, it is about a drop...

Driving a just purchased truck across state lines?

Thanks for the info, Mitch. LA seems to be in the minority in not requiring "intrastate only" cmv's not to register with FMCSA. Sooo... I wonder if what reg's they expect that same group of trucks to use? I guess I should ask someone in charge in LA, huh? As of now, I'm the only driver, but...

Driving a just purchased truck across state lines?

No problem Shenandoah... I've been driving a 26000# truck for three years, within about a 40 mile radius, and I haven't maintained a driver's log, a maintenance log, and have never crossed a scale (although I think I've only driven by one).

Driving a just purchased truck across state lines?

BK.... I like your answers... hope you're right. What would you do about weigh stations on the way home? I think I'm going to stop by a local station and ask them, as well.

Terex 55-19 Rear steer not responding

Well, sometimes it responds and sometimes it doesn't. Seems to be worse when the weather or machine is cold. It has three steering modes, and none seem to be any better or worse than the other. (crab, straight and opposite steer) Any thoughts?

Driving a just purchased truck across state lines?

Well, here's what I'm told so far... 1. Dealer says he will have a temp tag and inspection sticker. 2. The FMCSA site says that I do not need a DOT registration (number) for intrastate commerce in LA. (but I would need it if I were in NC, and most of the states that I will drive through...

Driving a just purchased truck across state lines?

Thanks guys... The truck is in New London, NC. It's a 2005 International 4300. CM, planning to pick up my CDL today... passed the practical stuff this past Saturday. I'm checking to see if the dealer can supply temp tags and inspection stickers... will go from there... Also check on DOT #.
