I thought that truck was recently sold and converted into a sow (equipment hauler). Now it’s already for sale again?

MacMillan Bloedel Ltd. Red & White Iron, Past and Present....

Great ending to a great story, HDX. I cannot wait to see her back in the M&B red. It's kind of sad as I always hoped to get back again to see the big trucks again as 2016 is my 10 year anniversary for getting to see and ride in H17. Thank you for being so willing to share with those of us who...

    Kenworth Thread for 848--849--850

I took pictures at Irvin Olson's boneyard back in 2006. H179 was among the trucks there. http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/pix/trucks/edwin_robbins/2006/july/100_3271.jpg

Great video! What ever happened to H160? Did it become one of the Mars Contracting trucks? Wasn't there also a H159 in MB's fleet?

    Challenger logging trucks

I picked up a copy of the Wheels Of Time magazine today. I enjoyed seeing many new pictures I have not seen before. Cam did a great job on the article. I had the chance to take pictures of the Challengers in Gold River back in '06. We even met the lowbed on the road to Woss. That was a...

MacMillan Bloedel Ltd. Red & White Iron, Past and Present....

I lurk a lot and read. It is hard to believe it has been almost 9 years since I was last there. I did a google map search and I was within 100 yards of the WFP yard and a mile from the LLL shops when I was in Port McNeil. I was kicking myself hard over that. I do have a bunch of pictures of...

Pacific trucks in the logging industy

You know plenty Hank and thanks for sharing these pictures. Very cool. Coast Powertrain rebuilt several of these P12's. One is working for Edward's Moving and Rigging out of Lexington, KY. I have found pictures of at least two more, all painted a dark blue and white, but in different schemes.

Pacific trucks in the logging industy

I'm pretty sure this is a P12. It has the straight frame rails and centered cab. They were popular in the Shawnigan division. There are before and after pictures of this truck over on Pacifictruckclub.org. It was formerly M&B H361. Great pics and good to see it is still used.

    Weyerhaeuser Company Logging Operations

I noticed in this picture of the C500 with lowbed, that the water tank is between the cab and headache rack. Other KW's and Mack's with logging trailers show the tank behind the headache rack. Were they built both ways or was the truck pictured modified because it pulled a lowboy?

    Highway log trucks.

Are there any more pictures of the Ted Leroy Western Stars like the one shown here on page 3 of this thread? I'm curious about the specs on these trucks. I would like to know what kind of rear suspension they had, like all air ride or air ride/walking beam? Wheel base? I would say it has a...

    Challenger logging trucks

Has anyone seen the new Premay PM116 Challenger tri-drive? You can see two pictures on Hank's Truck Pictures on page 40 of Wes Bergman's album. I wonder if it is an ex-Dane Developments units?

    Logging Railroads and their Equipment

The Englewood Logging Railroad has three repowered SW1200 with dynamic brakes. They can be identified by the silver and red paint scheme. They were repowered with 3512 Catapillar engines that provide 1500 HP. #302 is still the old GM diesel. The June 2011 issue of Railfan & Railroad...

Crown Zellerbach Yellow or Orange Iron

I have seen pictures and watched the Pacific Company video that shows the CZ Pacific P-16 "Super Trucks". What makes them "Super Trucks"? Where they any different than a regular P-16?

Hayes trucks in the logging industry

Hayes Forest Services owned # 1145 when I found it and photographed it in 2006. It was sitting in their yard in Duncan at the time. It is actually a dark metallic green color and was unique as the only one I've even seen that color. It ran a Cat 3408 with chrome valve covers and has been...

    Challenger logging trucks

That truck had fresh paint when I took those pictures. It had a Mack V8 for power with a manual transmission (No Allison like most of the big trucks seem to have).

Hayes trucks in the logging industry

What was the standard wheel base of a HDX-1000? Were they different between a conventional and self loading types?

Hayes trucks in the logging industry

Another interesting thing about Hayes sander H278 is the rear differentials. It is the only Hayes HDX I've seen in logging service with the Clark 121,000 lb rear axles.

    Mack CL350 ST logging truck

Kim, The cab pictures of unit H438 were taken at Saratoga Ventures in Campbell River. Also look at some of the first pictures on the disc that were taken at Tom's place. There are pictures of a radiator and Pacific cab. Those were from a Mack CL-350. You had taken pictures of it still...
