    1973 John Deere 410 backhoe

    check your hyd pump and see if you have a destroke soliniod valve, i think it powers up when you crank it over. did you try to bleed the brake that is soft? there are two bleeder screws , one on the top of each axle, this worked for me on both problems regards tom

    transmission will not go into gear when engine running but with engine off I can with

    adjust all the free play you can out of your clutch linkage. this may help to increase the amount or pressure or sepperating force you can apply to clutch disk. if not that loosen of pressure plate bolts alittle bit and see if it will break loose like that

    if you go direct with a push switch make sure glow plugs are 12 volt and not 3 volt you dont want to melt the ends off have you tried pluging in block heater to see if this helps also check for air in fuel 6.9 and 7.3 were bad for this likly sources of air intrusion is water seperator on...

    what psi should radiator cap be for a diesel?

    take off rad cap start it up and see if it is blowing bubbles in coolant, if so it is blowing by head or head gasket as for the cap you can get a tester to check them, it also can be used to test for coolant leaks in rads and blocks.

    no need to worry all air pergis out when running sucking air on suchion side of pumps is bad because it causes small explosins in hyd pumps watch for bubbles in hyd tank if you got bubbles rising in oil you got suction leak wich should be corected asap tom

    Rescue of a 62 year old.

    well for starters the excavtor was left in a local mine quite a few years ago they. let the mine flood, with most of the infastrutre left at the bottom. it took 5 days for the water to hit the level and another 4 or 5 months to flood almost to the top. i think the water was about 150 feet down...

    put booster cables on the out side sheeting make sure you got good connection hook up to battry warm up for few sec try and move inner cable works on stuck park brake cables add oil after it is warm hope it works for you tom

    i kind of have the same experince only my john deere 30 excavtor spent 8 years in 2000 feet of water. after a good cleaning it runs great
