    Prime Mover L1200

Hey guy's. i recently picked up an older Prime Mover L1200 that will be getting a complete rebuild. The company that built these machines is long gone and i am having no luck tracking down some manuals. Any info on this machine would be much appreciated. Stay tuned for pics of the rebuild...

    wedge curb mill??

An RX 10 with a 20" drum may be capable of making that cut on the berm. It's hard to tell from the pics but you may be beyond the machines tilt range, but with a bit of tinkering i think you could get a few more degrees out of it

    Volvo & Scania

Volvo heavy trucks are fairly popular here in the Northeast. I personally have driven a Volvo heavy haul tractor (basically a re-badged Autocar after Volvo took over) with a Volvo 425hp, fuller 18spd, and Volvo T-ride suspension. While i wasn't thrilled with the power delivery of the Volvo...

SHOW us your dump trucks 6,10,tri, and tractors

79 Kenworth W900a - 400 cummins, fuller 15spd direct, 46k rears, 16k front, and a 13.5' New Englander body. Started life as a tractor with an 8V92 and a 9 speed - when i picked it up it had been converted to a dump with the Cummins and a 13 spd which had a very large hole in the side of it...

    2wd plow truck?

A very wise man once said "a 2 wheel drive truck will plow just as well as a 4 wheel drive - until you get stuck". Have you considered keeping the Chevy for a plow truck/second truck?

    Pictures to share

If i'm not mistaken Lawrence Lynch was awarded one of the city of Boston contracts for 2010 - i am curious if they plan on using this machine or subbing out the milling?

Some Pics From Gerhart's Yard in PA

It's hard to tell with the angle of the pics but you could be right. For the record all the Mack 38k rears i have seen only have 5 dogs

Some Pics From Gerhart's Yard in PA

The green R model Mack only has 5 spoke rears which leads me to believe that its not as heavy spec'd as it may appear. Possibly 38k rears?

The ins and outs of milling .

The metal detector is your best friend. 1 hour of labor is much cheaper than an hour of downtime, a broken shaft, 5 holders, and 2 dozen teeth (not to mention a really pissed contractor).

    Bed Height

My Bobcat has 108" to the bucket hinge pin and will barely reach over the side of my 10 wheeler. I would say that 90" to the bucket pin is going to limit you to trucks with very low sides.

    Trimmers. Which to Purchase?

My company has been running Roadtec RX 10's (or Carlson CP 1220 if you prefer) for about 15 years. I personally average 1200 - 1300 hrs a year running one and can say that in the right hands it is a very productive machine. The majority of our work is in the city of Boston and our trimmers take...

    square yardage....

The company i work for has 2 fulltime milling crews and somewhere around 10 paving crews thus requiring many lowbed moves on any given day. If i'm counting right we have 5 company lowbeds and at least 3 hired beds on any given day. Both milling and paving each require 2 beds for a move - 1 for...
