    Quickinjection pump question case 580b

    Lines lined up.. that’s it.. I think there’s a flywheel access hole by the starter.. have a look at what degree marks are lined up..8* or 0*.?? But lining up the lines is all ya need to take off..

    Anyone know small Perkins engines? 103-10

    Does the inj pump control rack move freely back and forth.?? Did someone try to take the inj pump out w/o taking the solenoid out FIRST.?? THAT mess’s up the solenoid plunger AND the inj pump control rack.. Hope this helps.

    I keep forgetting that V isn’t on the payroll.. he’s a “sub”.. Otherwise I would take the keys to the truck and tell him not to do a mf thing until this mess is cleaned up, TO MY SATISFACTION.!!! Hand him a BOX of rags and a scraper and a case of brake cleaner..

    It might show up with your electric supply pump.. The problem with that pump is, once u plug 1 leak, another one shows up.. If one seal is hard and flat, they’re all hard and flat..

    Let me ask you.. why are you worried about leaks if it won’t start.?? Once u get it running, any leaks will show up.. u don’t need to pressurize the pump.

    I think getting the injectors done is a fantastic idea to start.. There’s no telling what symptoms new injectors will solve.. But it’s a good idea before jumping into the pump adjustment.. Let us know how it works out.

    It doesn’t sound like you’re scared of it, which is a good thing.. Take MAKAR up on his offer.. go buy a case or 3 of brake cleaner and go to town on it.. Good luck and snap some pics along the way..

    Be sure to cap or tape off the engine hot wire.. u don’t want any sparks while testing. Be sure to match the voltage on the solenoid and YOUR hot wire.. good luck

    I don’t know what inj pump u have, but there should be a shut down solenoid on the inj pump itself.. find it and unplug it from the engine harness and run your own “hot wire”.. to the solenoid.. run the machine and see if it still shuts down..THAT will tell you if u have a solenoid that’s going...

    The way we did the Stanadyne/RoosaMaster is: LOAD IT.. adjust to 60hz with the droop screw..(gov spring) UNLOAD IT and watch the rpm, it should climb no higher than either 8-10% or spec for the engine your working on.. and adj THAT w the screw on the throttle..     I’ve read somewhere, probably on this site, where someone suggested to use super glue to fill in pits.. let it sit and sand it down when dry.. I thought it was a good suggestion..

    I think the key is the heavy boulder.. u possibly overloaded the hydros.. and now the ECU is shutting the machine down every time u use the hydro’s.. This is above my pay grade so I’ll bow out.. the ECU has the ability to shut the machine down..

    One more thing.. Like I wrote earlier, the key-way is supposed to line up with the # 1 outlet on the pump.. U can figure out which pump cyl is # 1 by following the steel inj line to the # 1 injector.. Let us know if u had it right.. HOPEFULLY the pump guy doesn’t unlock it and reset it to spec...
