    140G problems

Good Morning; Thanks for all the quick advice. I will have the machine hopefully pulled in the shop this week so we can begin troubleshooting it. I will certainly start with the fuel cap and work from there. Part of the initial problem was between the time of the trouble call on the radio and...

    Liebherr crane

It is a very handy machine. The chassis is indeed a commercial mount that will allow easy servicing by shops unfamiliar with Liebherrs. The upper is all Liebherr including the second engine. One of the biggest drawbacks is the higher center of gravity when travelling around. Also you have to...

    140G problems

Our fleet's 140G has developed a stalling habit of late. My partner and I have chased down the usual suspects, fuel, filters and air draws to no avail. The machine will run fine and even at full rpm, working until suddenly the engine dies. We will then have to wait 5-10 mins before restarting...

    G series versus H series

We use both a 140G and a 140H in our grader fleet. The 140G although a 1980 model does the job and the older operators enjoy its abilities. The 140H seems to attract the younger operators although I would suspect it has something to do with the AC and radio option.. :)

    What do you guys think?

Hey Classic; There is a company here in Edmonton with one. Northern Crane Service has an LTF 1045. It is a handy machine but a little top heavy. It is a tandem steer, tri-drive axle setup.

    Our new 50ton "crane"

50ton Excellent job! The racks look great. With that tri-drive setup, I bet that machine is better setup than our Liebherr LTM1045:popcorn Can you travel during break-up with all your rigging stowed on the truck??

    National 800 series

Hey Brush; Double check the ASME B30.5. I am pretty sure it will tell you that in addition to the load chart and serial number ID, you require: a. a range diagram; b. dimensions/weights for your block or ball; c. the working load of your hoist cable; and d. a crane hand signal...

    Liebherr C92

Looks like a Liebherr LTM 1055. The load charts are available on the Liebherr site under mobile cranes. You are correct about being compact and versatile. The only drawback out here in the west is Liebherr designs all their AT cranes @ 12000kgs per axle. This forces us to use a boom dolly almost...

Looks Great! Is your machine equipped with a manual gantry for the inner bail?

Great photos!! What is the power plant?.. Are one of the boom stops bent or is it the angle of the picture?

    Our new 50ton "crane"

Boom trucks that are as tough as cranes! Was there a particular reason that you guys went to a single steer axle vice a tandem steer? How do you like the Manitex's? We have a 2892 in the fleet but lately we have been considering a machine from Weldco.

    Our new 50ton "crane"

Nice rig! You gotta love winter road travel in the back country :) Being a tri-drive, are you paying an annual permit fee? And, can you permit your steer axle heavier, or are you frozen at the 7300kg limit?

Very nice. That looks to be quite the congested worksite.

    2001 Grove RT530E

Looks sharp! I like the usefulness of the house lock pin.:) It makes 0 degree pick and carry so easy....certainly better than depending on a computer in a 30ton Terex RT:(

What is this handle thingy for?

+1 We had a similar style tool for our open cab D6C's fan. It is pretty handy when the season changes...as long as the fan blades aren't seized into place.

posting pics of my work cranes and 1:50 scale models

Awesome! :notworthy Thanks very much. I'd post a picture of my Link Belt dash, but it is nowhere near as nice and tidy as your "office".

posting pics of my work cranes and 1:50 scale models

Hey Laurent; Any chance you can post a photo of the operator station in the 4100? I am looking for a picture to explain the detents on the winch controls to contol the torque converter flow. The LS 118 at work doesn't have the VICON setup just a normal torque converter. Thanks in...

Hey Impact; Do you know how much boom you have to scope out to keep your axle weights legal?

Man, what a horrible day that must have been. We watched the video last week at work, I hope the operators made it out ok.
