Case 1845 wont start - new to heavy equipment

Another thought. Do you have a multi-meter and can you check battery voltage? Should be 12.2 ish to 13.2 ish. If you have voltage lower than 12 volts DC replace battery. If you have voltage higher than 12.2 ish remove battery terminals completely and clean battery terminals and battery clamps...

    Case 1845c hydraulic fluid

I have used SAE 10W30 oil in in the hydraulics in a mid/later model 1845C for years with no issues. Also I have used HTO additive religiously when I top up the hydraulics. Needed more HTO the other day. It had been awhile since I needed to purchase some. Went to the local Case dealer and the...

    Hitachi LX70-2 Travel Problem

I'm sorry. From the model number I was thinking this machine was a small excavator. I now realize it is a wheel loader. Sorry. Travel is weak in both directions. In all speeds? For and Rev?

    Hitachi LX70-2 Travel Problem

So both sides are weak. Are they weak in forward and reverse-both directions? How many hours on this machine? Did this happen all of a sudden? One day it was good and then the next day it was not good? Do you know how the pilot control is configured? Does the pilot control work with oil or is...

Fordtrk05, Ever find a resolution to your issue? Just curious.

    Hitachi LX70-2 Travel Problem

What is the problem? Weak 1 side or both sides? Is the LX70-2 electric over hydraulic control? Are there solenoids (coils) on the hydraulic control valve? Are any other functions effected? Anything else that seems slow?

Steiger Cougar 270 with 3306 Cat misfire at high speed/load

I'll just toss these out, but you've probably already considered them. Worth a shot. Cam lobe? Lift height? Worn cam lobe? I've also seen lifters wear and faces break off on 3306's. Broken ones are easy to determine. Boost pressure? Leak somewhere? With no load rpm, a boost leak may not appear...

Looking for a low hour machine, but which one?

Another vote for the mostly bullet proof Case 1845C. Best part? You get to keep 15-17K of that 30K and have a machine that does the job.

    Case 3394 trans failure

The 70 and 90 series tractors were famous for a particular failure. It's been about 15 years since I was involved in the particular failure but I do know this. Unless they changed, when those tractors were clutched (inching pedal) when you looked at the transmission hydraulic schematic, you...

    924 g z cat loader

I totally agree that ride control solenoid valve could be the issue. Only thing is that default for ride control solenoid valve is off or closed so spool would need to be stuck in the on or open position. Maybe broken spring in the spool? Certainly not impossible.

    Cat D6C Won't Move

Pull the transmission filter first, cut it apart and have a look first. If you have a major failure you should notice debris. Also if it has a thimble screen in the drain line at bottom of torque, also a good place to look for debris. In the past, on inspection of drain line screens, I have...

Please help cat 315 slow hydraulics

Machine has 2 implement pumps. 1 pump supplies basically half of the circuits. Other supplies the other half. It is NFC hydraulics (Negative flow control) open center. The pilot pump is fixed displacement and is common to all functions. I would be checking pilot pressure when the problem...

Ford 4500 stalled -and won't start

If that machine has a mechanical transmission there will be a neutral safety stat switch on a shift rail. Make sure that you have a connection through the switch when its supposed to be in neutral. Do you have power at the key switch?

    Cat 311B wont start

Does that thing have a seat switch?

    Caterpillar 140H transmission problem

Just a few things to note to understand this H series transmission. Its a countershaft not a planetary KBeen is correct- 3 clutches need to be applied to get movement from machine. In any gear selection you should have 3 transmission shift coils energized. (check them with a ferrous material...

    D8NTransmission heating

2 pressure checks I would do. -trans pump efficiency- trans pressure @ high idle and low idle. Difference should be no more than 10% ish -lube pressure. All leaks upstream of the lube (last in the circuit) will be noted by lack of lube pressure. Almost sounds like outlet relief is stuck...

    924 g z cat loader

    I am assuming that you charged/checked the pilot accumulator pressure? 125 +- 5 psi @ 70 F ?

    2000 924g with hydraulic issues

Hi Ford, The steering system uses the pilot pump for operation, so that seems to tell me the pilot pump circuit should be ok because the steering is fine. Would be worth checking pilot pressure though. Pilot/steering pump is variable displacement piston pump. Implements have their own variable...

    2000 924g with hydraulic issues

Partial guess here because I don't know the exact prefix of your machine. Pretty sure that is a variable displacement piston pump, and has PPPC, pilot operated hydraulics. Sounds to me like no LS (load sense) signal is getting back to the pump to signal the pump to stroke up. Sounds like 500...
