    Grading different soil a

In my early days of operating, I was told a grader "treats dirt doesn't shift it" Just keep chiseling away

    Galion T500A brake parts

Chase up Weller Tractor Spares in Kansas. Their knowledge & access to "odd" parts is amazing

    Working in Alaska pictures

The material looks similar to stuff we have around northern inland NSW (Australia) flood plains We have to mix clay with it, or it just unravels real fast.

    hancock pull paddle scraper

Dislike the American term "paddle wheel", they're "Elevators" please

    hancock pull paddle scraper

Fortunately for me, I've only seen them from the distance. Terrex Wabco Michigan/Clark used the Hancock bowl which were yards ahead of johnson bowls

    hancock pull paddle scraper

Looks more Wabco 111A or International E200 era. Electric motor removed & old style John Deere drive shaft/gearbox Michigans had a Hough loader diff & planetaries on the lower section of the frame

Nice to hear that you've had a win with the transmission. ;)

going from 12m to 12h for a few weeks

I'm a convert to the M. Travel down the highway is always a bit interesting as it's a bit like holding the handle of an outboard motor, the slightest touch & you can change course quickly into the path of an oncoming road train (one prime mover with two or three trailers) A steering wheel...

    New to me 143 H

You're in the right state for spare parts, dealt with Weller Tractor Spares for many years. Never a problem having parts shipped to Australia. Tom Ruble was my main contact, real nice bloke too.

    New to me 143 H

Front wheel assist is great on any grader. A Clark Super 301 I ran back in the 80's had mechanical AWD but traction was let down by the loader style tyres it was shod with. It came from France as 100 of them were earmarked for Iran but as we know the turmoil which erupted there, the order was...

    New John Deere Grader coming.

Yes they've come along way since the likes of Britstands, Aveling Barfords, 94c C@ts etc. Autonimous machinery is on the way for controlled conditions, so human operator comfort isn't a real priority of design anymore ;) I'll just stay out west in the pioneering, agricultural & erosion...

    New John Deere Grader coming.

Jumping on an old 140 H after an M vision wise, is a backward step :( Are the design people at C@t on drugs. In Australia, nearly every A/c, on machinery is running on 80%. Cooling is one of the biggest disappointments on equipment sent down here. We have Arizona desert weather most...

Can GPS help a young in experienced operator do quality professional grading?

Old dogs with new technology  I fit in that category. You need to use it frequently or its painfull. There's so many offset adjustments in the system for a grader. GPS on scrapers & buckets (pans as you northern hemisphere people refer to them as) are reasonably straight forward...

    New John Deere Grader coming.

I was shifted from an M series grader I've been running for this company last week to operate their new aquisition, 770G ex shire council 10,000hrs. I avoided jumping on an M for many years but now I'm really enjoying the visibility & how efficient I have become on the M. Climbing in to the...

Ripper mounted disc cutter for bitumen

Thanks Jonas302, I can pass this on to the management to show them what I was talking about. It wouldn't be "rocket science" to fabricate one, just finding a competent person. We're in the middle of the first winter crop harvest in 4 years so everybody is flat out. we had to trim up some extra...
