Excavator Spot Mounder / Ripper for forestry land prep?

Good day all, I am looking for information on a specific type of forestry land prep tool that was developed in the '90s in Australia and New Zealand, I believe it was called a "Spot Mounder", with one of the manufacturers being one "Wilco Products". The tool was fixed to an excavator in place...

    Dezzi Grader

Interesting little machines those, not quite as popular as they potentially could be. The farmer grader market is still dominated by ex DoT Galion and Cat G series graders, and specialised equipment hire and use is still limited to skidsteers, and labourers due to a large, cheap labour pool...

Volvo to discontinue graders and backhoe loaders

They are terribly expensive and far too technologically advanced for the developing world. That being said, their graders have been popularly traded in RSA, not as popular as Cat or JDs with a Bell badge, but you see enough of them to hear how terrible they are.

Building a website for a heavy equipment company - Any suggestions?

Ola Lucas, tudo bem? Bem vindo nas foruns dos equipamentos pesados! From what I see, the site is already very well put together, but the "Serviços" page is a little broad, and is not specific about what exactly Tractorbel is capable of repairing, both in terms of components and OEM (Marças)...

Is this the end of the crawler loaders / track loaders?

Olá terraplanagem! Seja bem vindo nas fóruns dos equipamentos pesados! In South Africa their use was always limited, bulldozers and wheel loaders (two firms in particular, established in South Africa, Desmond Equipment and Bell Equipment) used together were always preferred, and TLBs have a...

New Hyundai wheel loader HL 760-9 series: working demo held at High Power Equipment A

Is HPE responsible for the whole of Africa then? I know them from South Africa, but I didn't know that Hyundai was even in the equipment market north o South Africa's borders.

    How To Operate an Excavator

If you've never run a 360 excavator, you'll feel a little disconcerted at the rocking back and forth that can happen when the ground underneath is a little uneven at first, but you'll eventually develop an eye for where and where not to put your excavator. Also, always check before you swing...

Cabs and Seats - We need your help!

Use some sense when designing the mirrors. I am small, but I have lost count the number of times I have gotten into a tractor or TLB and bashed my shoulder because they sit at a funny angle (and then had to readjust them, too). Also, can we have all the simple seat adjustments placed in logical...

    Working around idiots....

Working this June (winter here in the Southern Hemisphere) I was busy burning fire breaks with neighbours. One morning, I ride with the lorry and tractor and all the labour to meet the farmer and start the burn. This particular day we had had heavy frost, and starting the burn midway up the...

20 year old CAT 140G vs a NEW MITSUBISHI GRADER

Ok cool. Yeah, I think our operators are spoilt in a few regards, and we definitely are short of good operators. I have no idea how the roads contracts are awarded here, but if I were you I would ensure my machines are in good nick with recently serviced fire extinguishers, and all your...
