    TL150 or TL250

Unless you need the high flow, I would stick with the 150. Main reason for me is I believe the kubota engine has exhaust gas recirculation and electronic controls. These two things, especially EGR is more to go wrong. This was to meet new emissions requirements and usually to meet emissions...

How do you take down trees

Yep keep on doing what you're doing. I heard of a local story where a farmer wanted some trees cleared for more grazing land. He thought he would "help" the dozer operator he hired and saw the trees down with only a foot or so sticking up. I wonder how much his "help" ending up costing him extra?

    skid steer or track machine?

If you spend half your time on pavement a tire machine is going to be what you want in my opinion. A tire machine should be fine for backfilling your ditches and most other tasks in fairly dry conditions.

True, the run away situation where the engine runs ungoverned on the lube oil. I wonder if that happened? Then the only way to shut it off is to block the intake or exhaust.

I would think any modern machine would shut itself off when oil pressure was lost. THen again I would also think someone would be smart enough to shut it off after doing a face plant.

    Bobcat controls

That sums up my sentiments on CTLs as well. TL150 all the way. Doesn't the 7810 have the 3.9 Cummins? Can't go wrong there.

    Anyone own a Takeuchi TB135?

What is the 100hp version? I just got my 150 a couple weeks ago and heard of no option for power.

best way to digging with a skid steer bucket

A bolt on tooth bar would be a more economical way to add some digging capability. That' if you don't want to spend the money on a whole new bucket.

    Bobcat T-300 Idlers

I just picked up my new TL150 today and hope I have that good of luck. After reading so much negative stuff on here about CTLs I've been having some reservations.

Anyone used the new Daewoo with the Cummins 4bt?

Is it just me or does that seem exactly like a Case 1845?

    cat series differences?

Yeah with the 4 in 1 bucket you have a single lever control with another to run the auxillary hyd. on the bucket. I thought the single lever would be easier to run but I'm getting used to the twin levers. You are right about the B being a bit better than a C. We had a B and C both and the B...

    cat series differences?

I came close to that position about 4 times yesterday backing up out of a basement excavation. I'm not good about wearing seat belts, however in a track loader they are MANDATORY. Buckle up tight in these things! As far as the series differences I've seen between a 953B and C it's mostly...

    Kansas City, MO?

Thanks for the info guys that does sound pretty good on the 953c I need one someday. Dave do you know anything about the mowing at the base? I've got a couple of scag sabre tooth tigers I wouldn't mind putting to some use. I guess you do all your own mowing at cavalry?

    Pick up truck tool boxes.

Weatherguards are pretty much the top of the line but go with what your budget will allow. Here are my boxes.

    Kansas City, MO?

Hey guys I live just south of the airbase where the auction was. Any good deals on the track loaders? I saw a 955 (probably) heading south on holmes today that came from there. Saw a couple road tractors yesterday with the tag still on them over on 135th on the kansas side. Hey Dave, what do...

    Engine Oils

Schaeffer's 9000 is about the best oil you could use IMO. Hey salesrep I'm using the #254 HTC in my power steering and hydraulic system on my unimog, do you think that's okay or should I use something else. I was thinking #315 simplex supreme might be better? What would you use for a...

Don't see many of the bi-directional tractors either. I looked into some of the implements for my unimog. Does each PTO on that versatile turn in the correct direction? My front Pto turns in reverse so you have to watch what you're trying to run.

    Powered grease guns

I use Schaeffer products myself, they are great. I use some redline products in other applications but for industrial use Schaeffer is about the best. I hear Cen-Pe-Co is good but Schaeffer is available locally for me.
