    Thanks Mike, you got it threw a rod! Hole in the block cab side of no. 4. Scored barrell, broken piston, crank not too bad maybe salvagable. Thought it would be easier to get a replacement. Got one...................?

    I had to buy one for my EX150/5. Retail was £1400 but haggled to £1000.:D Took about 20 mins to channge myself. As you say problem is diagnosis. Check for the red light in the top if its got one.     Just a thought, I have had a few hitachi /3 and /5's and some have a banjo fuel filter in the fuel line as it enters the pump. (A bitch to get at!) Maybe something of use on another day.
