    963C fuel in radiator

Yeah, I agree, cups are leaking. 3116/3126 MUI have fuel rail inside head flowing through injectors, and coolant going through the head which flows around the injectors too.

    stabilizers drifting

I'm not sure if they have holding valves. I did drift test with stabilizers holding machine 3 inches off the ground, backhoe extended fully straight out bucket 1 foot off the ground. didn't really drift at all.

    stabilizers drifting

Is it pretty normal for stabilizers to drift down a bit/or hit line relief when holding up machine and working hoe pretty hard and pulling while extended all the way out. I was working a 310G pretty good and noticed if I had the outriggers all the way down and worked it pretty hard for about 15...

MF 240 - farmhand loader problems

Well the cylinder seals were junk. The left lift cylinder seals were almost gone, there was a piece of them in the barrel of the other lift cylinder. Got them resealed, honed the barrels a little to clean up some minor grooves and it works like a champ now. I bush hogged with it for a few...

Have your ever had a skidloader rollover

I haven't rolled one but in the shop a guy called one of our mechanics and he answered on speaker phone and you could hear the skid steer SCREAMIN!!! in the background and the poor fella was tryin to figure out how to shut it off. It was running off it's own oil, I think he finally pulled the...

MF 240 - farmhand loader problems

Well I went out and operated the tractor. I'm starting to think that the forward detent on the joystick isn't float and more like a return to dig type deal. If you move the valve in just the right spot it'll lift. I capped the cylinders and they drifted like crazy, blown piston seals was my...

MF 240 - farmhand loader problems

I'm in Louisville, KY, and hopefully I'll be able to find some more stuff on the tractor this weekend. The valve has two spools lift/bucket, and are connected by a linkage with one joystick which you can operate both functions at the same time. I think they are open center. Tomorrow...

MF 240 - farmhand loader problems

They aren't my strongest either, and I agree I've read some of the other posts ATCOEQUIP has posted, hey I've seen some of yours too. I can tell there are some sharp mechanics on this website, I'm still learning and this site's been helping me out a ton.

MF 240 - farmhand loader problems

Phil I'll definitely try capping the cylinders, and checking pressures. Sorry guys, I haven't really had a chance to do much trouble shooting, and was hoping someone had had a similar problem, maybe not with this machine but with one like it.

MF 240 - farmhand loader problems

I read the post previous to the one you're replying to as if he had a line hooked to the outlet of the valve, meaning past the valve or bypassing the valve, or in other words hooking the supply line directly to the cylinder. I appreciate it though and you're exactly right and I hope I'm not...

MF 240 - farmhand loader problems

I've thought about lines hooked up wrong but I'm pretty sure he hasn't been into this thing in a long time and that it's worked fine after he was into it. Also I think other things might be outta wack if that was the case, seems like if he had a supply line somehow hooked to the outlet of the...

MF 240 - farmhand loader problems

Yea I'll have to get them scanned somewhere though. My original thoughts were that if the oil was bypassing the cylinder seals, when you lower the loader frame (put oil into the rod end), if you open the valve all the way and oil got past the piston seals into the head end then the larger area...

How do you grease rollers and idlers on d4h

those plastic plugs are stoppers for the rubber plugs. You shouldn't have to do anything with them, they are sealed/oiled, and I'm not sure if ones that small are even serviceable. You shouldn't need to mess with them unless they are leaking.

    Cat 246 engine

The 3024 isn't a bad engine if it's been updated. The headgaskets have been updated which were blowing it the same place on all of them. The oil pickup tube was getting sucked up into the block and blocking off the oil going to the pump, the update was basically a washer brazed to it so it...

MF 240 - farmhand loader problems

My grandfather has an old Massey Ferguson 240 with a farmhand loader on it with a weird Hydraulic problem. The loader really won't do anything and the bucket won't either (super slow) and it drifts down like crazy. I originally thought it was piston seals leaking until I operated it the other...

    Cat track maintenance questions

Yes they do suck, I've used two different types of tooling for it though. There is one setup that has two hyd. rams in one assembly that you can hang on the link with little pegs while you run the rods through it and set up everything else, much better than the one with every part separate...

580 se boom swing cylinder "wierd leak"

I second tinkerer, if you tried to weld up the cylinder you'd have to get it machined because it would tear up the piston seals, also I'd say if you tried to weld something over the crack, the piston seals would still not like the crack in the barrel. I'd say replacing it would be your best...

    Decelerator question

The newer ones are hydrostatic (CAT) and have implement control on the right, forward/reverse speed on left and pedal steer. I guess it's because they don't do as much long straight pushing and dozers have regular powershift transmissions. My guess would be maneuverability.

    Cat track maintenance questions

I know that CAT did have System One track for the D4G, which is supposed to be even less maintenance than the regular sealed and lubricated track (SALT). I think with system one track the bushing can rotate eliminating wear from the sprocket, and no bushing turns, they're supposed to last way...
