How to adjust max RPM on Takeuchi TB175

Sorry for the delay in replying. Yes, when I was able to get both arms in and pull a bit there was slack in the cable. Now I need to buy me a gauge and check the hydraulic pressure. I think the pressure may have been turned down by the rental company I bought this machine from. After using my...

How to adjust max RPM on Takeuchi TB175

I’ve been forcing my somewhat thick arms through spaces they didn’t want to fit but, with your help I scored! I didn’t quite get to the official spec of 2300 RPM but close enough for me. It’s like a new machine again! Thanks again for your help!!

How to adjust max RPM on Takeuchi TB175

I have no idea where else to get a 1:1 ratio for RPM other than the crank pulley. My question is where any set screw is to adjust max RPM.

How to adjust max RPM on Takeuchi TB175

I also am showing low hydraulic pressure which I noticed first and had been checking to make sure that there were no issues with the hydraulic pump. I loaded wrong pics. I believe the low hydraulic pressure is a direct result of low engine RPM.

How to adjust max RPM on Takeuchi TB175

Thanks for the replies! I’ll be there this early afternoon. I’ll get a pic of the serial number and injection pump and post them. I bet this machine will work better and faster with the engine turning more than a fast idle LOL.

How to adjust max RPM on Takeuchi TB175

I suppose I must be as slow as this excavator for not noticing this years ago, but the current max RPM on my TB175 is only 1900-1950. I finally broke down and bought a little portable RPM thingy to check and see if my suspicions were right and now they are verified. Anyway, I’m planning on...

    Tracks or Tires

Just MHO based on my experience over the last 20 years or so; both have their places. On paved surfaces or hardpan ground, I prefer a machine on tires. If things get sloppy, I add over the tire steel tracks. However, those tracks suck on pavement and really mark up expensive driveways. Other...

Okay, here's one of those 'slow in the winter' sort of questions. Charging 24v system

Thanks! That's relatively expensive, but not as expensive as changing about 20 batteries every spring!! I know what I'm putting on my Christmas wish list now...

Okay, here's one of those 'slow in the winter' sort of questions. Charging 24v system

That is exactly what I am doing using a Deltran unit with 8 outputs. I use two outputs; one on each battery. I used my meter to measure the voltage on each (just to make sure of what I 'knew') and, as expected, I was obviously getting 12v at each battery. I don't understand why using two of...

Towable excavator home user and atv

That's great that such a machine works out for you where you live. I'm yet to come across anyone who owns one. I know of one rental yard who has 1 for rent, but they tell me that they seem to rent it only for a couple hours at a time for someone to dig a small trench or to bury a pet that has...

Okay, here's one of those 'slow in the winter' sort of questions. Charging 24v system

I have so many pieces of equipment and assorted vehicles that it seems that one of my major expenses is just keeping batteries working in my various pieces of equipment. My latest challenge is figuring out what is the best method of keeping a 24v system charged. My Tak TB175 simply has 2 large...

Now I've done it; after bragging on my TB145 the 2 speed drive quit working!

The yellow 'rabbit' light comes on when I hit the button, but now I don't get an increase in speed for the faster gear. Common sense tells me that the button is working and everything from the button to the dash panel is working, since the light still comes on, but there is a failure somewhere...

What's the largest excavator you pull with a pickup truck?

My trailer tires are not balanced. There again, I doubt I ever haul a heavy load more than maybe 50-60mph even on an Interstate; and I am rarely on any Interstate. I'm almost exclusively local in my hauling. I did put new tires on early this year because the date code on my trailer tires...

Type of oil for final drive

I don't know how it effected machines long term, but I worked for a very large corporation that had hundreds of millions of dollars worth of large equipment and we used 15W40 Delvac in darn near everything; hydraulic, steering, differentials, you name it. It sure made it easier for the lube...

Anyone haul their mini on a flatbed truck?

In response to Old Iron, ROFL!! I did have it weighed with a full fuel load in each machine. Not much to spare, but that is probably obvious.

Anyone haul their mini on a flatbed truck?

I should have mentioned that I pulled the red flag out of the dipper as I walked around the back of the truck. A friend was working and weighed me. That's why I had to turn it around with the stick out the back. The other way, with the stick over the cab (and counter weight towards rear), I was...
