Cat 416C, how do I change control pattern?

for the 416C, take off the housing around the control levers, remove all the linkages and replace them with 2 straight threaded rods. I welded 2 bolts with the correct thread together to make it work, the machine is made to have backhoe controls and there is a mess of linkages in there to make...

    Backhoe rate?

In northern BC here the going rate is just over $90/hr. That's what I charge for my 426C when I charge out, but for the most part it gets used on our own jobs.

    Replacement rubber outrigger pads

The 426C-IT I purchased came with steel cleats bolted to the stabilizers. I called my local CAT dealer and they wanted $800 CDN for a set of 4 replacement pads. Did some searching on the forum and found nothing, so I googled and ordered a set from Flip Pad International for $240 shipped for the...

    Pictures of your Backhoe!!!!!

Having only seen and never used a pin grabber I cannot comment, but living in an area with large amounts of heavy equipment, much due to heavy usage in the forest industry and only ever seeing wedge style quick couplers I was leary to get a pin grabber, plus the fact that the bucket can possibly...

    Pictures of your Backhoe!!!!!

No problem, around here nobody uses pin grabber couplers, there are 2 standards, CWS and Weldo Beales, which makes the couplers for Finning. Remove 1 or 2 bolts, drive out the wedge, switch buckets, install the wedge and the bolt(s) and away you go. check here for a better description...

    Pictures of your Backhoe!!!!!

I finally got to put my new (to me) 426C-IT to work today digging for a small addition on a customers house. I bought the machine for $21,000 USD which I think was an amazing deal, it has 7700 hrs on it, starts and runs like a top, a little rough around the edges but pins and bushings are great...

Are IT attachments interchangeable between brands?

Well I can confirm that the framers carriage I bought from a Cat telehandler fit right onto my 426c IT.

Swapping Patterns on 97 Cat 426C-IT

DONE. The parts were $80 and a week away, I couldn't find any 10mm 15tpi redi-rod, so welded 2 5" metric bolts together end to end to make the linkages. It works like a dream, I can dig level again! Picture here: http://media1.dashwire.com/media/a9W0SieBer3BS6adbimNyZ/cPuH0IysKr3RO6adbiFTTI.jpg

Swapping Patterns on 97 Cat 426C-IT

Thanks, I think I can just get some redi rod of the correct threading and make the 2 linkages myself. I will let you all know how it works out, and take a couple pictures. Thanks

Swapping Patterns on 97 Cat 426C-IT

I drove over and pulled the shroud off and sure enough, it has the linkage assembly to convert it to Cat controls, thanks so much. Tomorrow I will go buy some redi rod and put it back to the way it should be.

Swapping Patterns on 97 Cat 426C-IT

longjrla, if you do have the part numbers for the short rods I most likely need that would save me a lot of time on the phone with the parts department at the dealership. Thanks

Swapping Patterns on 97 Cat 426C-IT

Thanks so much for the reply, this is amazingly helpful. I have right now what you refer to as excavator controls(Cat/SAE), and want to switch to backhoe style(Deere/ISO), which is what I am used to. The hoses look a tad disorganized and I wonder if they have previously been swapped, but without...

Swapping Patterns on 97 Cat 426C-IT

Does anyone have a diagram or know which hoses to switch on the valve bodies to change this machine over to John Deere controls? I just purchased it and although I know I should learn them, the first few jobs I have to do are too tight to be learning new controls. Or is there a chance there...

    Ford backhoes

Thanks, I ended up buying the 426C-IT. Turns out I got the best deal but didn't realize it until I got posession. The hoe had barely been used. The machine has been used for clearing snow and moving material with the forks for 7500 hrs.

Are IT attachments interchangeable between brands?

by small wheel loaders, which ones, 924, but not 928? I can't find a chart anywhere that specifies this, which makes it a pain to bid for attachments on richie bros via the internet.
