    500ton trucks...

They have had the design drawing for nearly 10 years now so it is good to see they will finaly build the big Belaz. With the new P&H4800 xpc and the Cat 6120 shovel, these trucks will be more viable.

    Cat 795 electric drive trucks

so are you trying to load them to 450 ton, or 450 tonne?

    Cat 795 electric drive trucks

So, what's the guess with the "super ultra class" 450 ton class trucks which have just been announced? Do you think Cat will make their version electric drive, or just boost up the 797F?

    500ton trucks...

There is a solution to transporting higher capacity tires. Two peice tires. If you made the O.D of the inner section of a 2 peice tire the same O.D as a regular 63" tire, what would its capacity be? Going a bit wider in tires, maybe similar size to the tires on a L2350 loader in 2 peice design...

Hate When Pivot Shaft Breaks!! D10n

Nextdoor, you might ant to check with Geographe in W.A. They make a lot of aftermarket bits for dozers which are quiet good. They might make pivot shafts if yours is U.S. They do make the pivot bearings in standard and undersize if your shaft needs machining. They might make seals as well.

Hate When Pivot Shaft Breaks!! D10n

Nextdoor. If you find the pivot shaft is worn in the bearing areas, try getting it metal sprayed to build it up. Have had it done to a few 9,10 and 11s and it went well. If you do go for a new shaft, look around some of the after market places to see if you can get a solid one. The solid ones...

how is your 11r holding up?

637slayer. Yes, the 11R is a good machine but they were known to have overheating issues sometimes in hot climates (fixed in D11T). You can get high ambient temperature radiator cores for them and cores which reduce plugging. As usual, it was bloody electrics causing the problem.

    994F Loader

Cat793 did you here that the 52 t loader will be a 995, not a 996? I had heard it would be 995 mechanical drive and 996 lectric drive. Gavin 84W, do you have any updates on the new Cat larger loaders? When will the larger 994K? be out, or the 995?

    Cat introduces the 993K!

I hope it is quicker than the 994s. If it has the speed of a 992, with a bit more grunt, then it will be good. If it is as slow as the 994s, then not so good.

    Cat 2 Way dozer

The advantage of these over a straight dozer is that the dozer can nose up to the side of the ore bin on a ship and scape all of the ore out from around the edges. It does 95% of its work as a normal dozer, but cleans up around the edges with the back blade.

    500ton trucks...

GeeVee. The fuel tanks on the 797s and other big trucks will usualy only power the truck for 14 hrs or so The 797F will have the 20/C175 engine which is one 20 cylinder engine, not two 12s connected. One possibility for 540 tonne trucks would be like the Belaz 540 ton truck design. 4 front...

    is there such a thing?

I wouldnt be too supprised if one was to come out. With the population of 400 ton truck increasing, there will be more of a market. When a D11 has to push a load dumped from a 400 tonne truck, it has to take a few bites at it, from one side or the other, which means it isnt quite as efficient as...

    D9 & D10T Aussie style

Most of the grab rails on the push arms that I have seen are attached with a big stiff steel cable as the upright. These give it a bit of flex when rocks hit it.(which is often). These ones last very well. I couldnt see the solid mounted ones lasting very well at all.

    decelerator question

Being the person who has to fix dozers, I definitley prefer them to use the decal pedal. I was in a mine in a 3rd world county where the operators NEVER used the decal pedal. They had issues with track links breaking, master bolts breaking and coming loose, sprocket segments had to be welded as...

Pros & Cons of LGP Tracks

LGP grousers are great in mud and slush. If you are working in areas where dozers can easily get bogged then go for the LGPs, but if flotation isnt needed, then go for the narrowest grouser plates you will need. If you are in hard ground, such as in the mines, then having wide shoes will put a...

    who makes the BEST dozer

Deas Plant, I would say that the main reason you have had a bad run with getting the dealer mechanics in your area is that all the diesel fitters in the area have run off to the mines to make the big bucks. (I left the particular dealership you are talking about to do the same thing). Now I have...

    D9r?

I take it that this is with a later model D9R with the Heui engine? If so, the mechanic should be able to quickly check if it has shown any electrical fault codes which could cause a high inlet air temp warning to come up. He wont need the ET computer for this. Depending on the serial number...

    More hammer questions

Coming from an excavator repair/ maintenance back ground ,I will certainly want to fit an autolube system. In realy hard digging or hammer operation ,it is easy to hit the grease button more often. I know that if I have some other operators in the machine, they wont do the hard to get to grease...

    More hammer questions

I dont realy like the idea of using a hammer too much on the new machine. I will more likely hire a hamer when needed. I will be getting a ripper attachment which will hopefully help a bit with rocky ground ,then use the hamer when I absolutley have to. I will have to look into which other...

    More hammer questions

I havent had much to do with hammers before ,but as I can get more work and charge a higher rate with a hammer ,I am looking into getting one for a Cat 324DL. Since I didnt want to beat the daylights out of the new machine ,are there any hammer brands which are known to be softer on the machine...
