Destination is Chetwynd Heard that the other day So might have changed by now. And yes ,all the stuff from Parksville has been relocated to Courtenay, Up at the old Camp/Shop yard of Crown Z's. Use to be at the "Y" on the road to Mt Washington. When heading north on the new highway right where the bridge over it says Comox Logging road ,that is where they are just to the right , But you have to access it from the back way

Hank...isn't that like asking your Chevy friend to take pics of the Fords he see's at the car show ???.:cool:Lets rephrase that and just say "pictures would be good thanks":)What happened to all the trailers for these trucks.Are they piled up some where.I know nothing about Dane other than what I have read and seen pics of..I am guessing these trucks are in good hands now.(???)

How much did that 12V92T have for HP???

I am thinking they were around 500-525 HP.Much bigger engine than the 12V71 and I imagine they had huge torque.The 12V92 is just a tad smaller than the 16V71 cubic inch wise....

Schneider Logging only had 1 P16 . this is at the Pacific factory. They had P9 and P10 trucks might be able to fine out today as to how many, if my contact makes it for coffee this morning.img003.jpg img004.jpg

Now that is not your normal everyday PreLoad truck!!! Very interesting to say the least. The entire turntable is part of the rear deck assy. I wonder what advantage to the adjustable stake positions on the trailer bunk But having said that , they are there for a reason. Still would have been a chore to move the stakes out to the outside position's Also it looks like a small ram installed on the rear truck apron..... We must get more picture's and info on this configuration. Looks very interesting. Jump in anytime Blkprince or diamondtguy

Good spotting HDX. Got me looking at it as well. What about the front section of the reach and the fuel and water tanks? As you said, 'Very interesting.'

This is a good picture of how un-driver friendly the cab step's and running board on driver's side was. Would have been an easy fix to extend the running board out a foot, put proper step's and add a catwalk around the cab/water tank area. Too many place's to slip and fall. Look's really good there but add mud and snow, as well as fuel and oil spill all over the surface's and it would get interesting. Of all the P16's I had anything to do with, The last series they built were without a doubt THE second BEST TRUCK's I ever had the pleasure of driving. Extremely well built and very well laid out from a drivers perspective.

I could not find out about the trailer but did find out that Schneider only had 1 P-16 and was only used a very short time on a log haul. They had off highway hauls in the Kelowna, Peachland area. The roads would not handle the P-16, there were a few 849 KW's and some off highway Hayes as well. After words this truck was leased to BC Hydro for several jobs, and it paid for its self. Then BC hydro bought the truck from Schneider Logging. It was at the Hydro sub station on the Douglas Lake rd past Merritt for a few years. Have no idea where the trailer or truck ended up.26.jpg

was talking to hank about schneider p 16 this morning used only short time in bush the roads would not handle it bill run p 10 14 truck 12 trailer as the loads where tree length bob dingsdale has pictures on hanks one picture loading is bucked wood there is one of it in peachland yard on page five of the peaload lots diffence then the island and on page eight of his p 10 it let youno more in time

Perhaps trailer was set for hauling all the wood butt ahead. Trailer loading is not one I ever saw. No rams along the frame. Notice what looks like stiff legs just back of fuel tank. Maybe everything could be detached from truck. Also that series with the muffler under running boards sucked. Way too hot in cab

I was wondering if those were to stabilize the turn table when in the down position Ian They look like they follow the rear deck, so when it came down onto the frame they would stand in the upright position to support the front corners of the turn table. Make any sense?
