Loader has sat almost three years installed a new reman about a year ago. First mechanic has abandon the project. Got another mechanic 2 finish everything up. Got it fired last night but he says it has no hydraulics boom or transmission what should you look for?

They are two independent systems. Check oil level in the hydraulic tank at the front and transmission level at the side of the machine.

I talked to mechanic today he said that it moves now but still no boom functions. I remember when it was running before that it would not operate correctly unless at Full Throttle. Is that the way all 963s are or was there something wrong with mine? Anything I should be checking, all fluids are good.

Will need to check pressures for the system, no pressure either the filters are completely stopped up or sucking air or the hydraulic pump is just shot.

Back before the engine gave out the loader would not operate worth a darn unless it was at Full Throttle. I know they're designed to be worked at Full Throttle. If you try to operate it at half throttle should it still work okay or no? Just asking because if iy should still operate okay then maybe the pump was going out a long time ago and now after sitting for 3 years it's totally shot?

Yes, it's designed to work at full throttle but it should still move at half throttle.

Went and picked up loader today. Got it back to my shop. Amazing how well a hydraulic system works with fluid!!!

I will say, i am unsure of what is what on this machine. Under the loader arm is a tank, that i thought had a dipstick in it, but does not now. Then under the cab are two fill caps that both say "hyd". One has a sight window. What is what? What level should the front tank be set to?

Front tank is for the implement hydraulics and will have a sight glass on it.

The filler cap that goes to the compartment nearest the front will be for the splitter box and should have a dipstick. The other one is for the transmission.

IIRC the front tank is the hydraulic tank. The one on the side under the cab with the sight glass is the transmission oil and the I can't seem to remember what the correct term is for the other one under the cab but it is basically the gear drive case between the engine and transmission. It doesn't hold much oil. Hope that helps
