When the TFL's (Tree Farm License) tenure program on Crown Land was being created in the early 1950's ' , H.R. MacMillan a Registered Forester and the one of the founders of MacMillan Bloedel predicted this day would come . The Major Corporation's have a Monopoly in our Crown owned Forest's in British Columbia . The small stake holder's that were awarded TFL's in the 1950's , sold out their holdings to make a "Buck" or were swallowed up by the bigger Companies . The "Good Old Days" are long gone !

Can this "tenure" situation be reviewed, examined etc, it sounds like a done deal for all time, which sounds very crippling to BC (except for shareholders of wfp). I suppose no one has the energy to take on the fight. Are shares available to buy into WFP, that is some annual revenue they declared. As shareholders, you could go to the AGM and join in the back patting.

Richard Neva had a tandem Kenworth with a "Jeep" hooked to a "Dog Logger" , he was known to haul above average volume loads .
WOW must of been fun on the landing and mill yard watching him set it all up, sliding the jeep on and off and pulling the reach in and out!!

The two rubber tired log loaders pictured in post 2723 are now all cut up down in Sarita Shop Yard, They along with a couple folding reach trailers are now just pieces of scrap. Even the stakes were butchered to ensure they would or could not be used again The "Push Bars" used to push the loads off the trucks were also cut up and the ramps that the load's would land on are all going into the bin's also. This will be my last witness to such destruction of logging equipment. I never even bothered to take pictures because I would not waste my time to do it. There is even a logging arch getting cut up. It is complete and would have still worked well behind a cat ,But alas it is too late!!!!

The fallers cut the timber, then the loggers yard it to the road and load it onto trucks. The trucks often haul it to the water, where it is dumped in, then sorted by species and grade by little boom boats. Then finally it is barged or rafted to the mill- simply because 2 or 3 men can haul the equivalent of hundreds of truckloads, and all in one tow.
This barge is an extra in the TV show "Supernatural". It shows up in the background in one of the early seasons. Pretty sure it was Vancouver bc but could be in Naniamo. It was docked under a destinctive bridge.
