Going to have to do exploratory surgery I suspect. A lot of manufacturers went cheap as GM and Ford did years ago on cars with Fusible Links, will be a soldered in section of a 'soft spot' in the wiring that burns in two on hot shorts. If that is the case find the raw spot where it shorted or the component that is failed to ground and DO NOT install a piece of regular wire until you find the problem, install a fuse holder is a good choice and they are easy to find. Look to you shop manual electrical pages to find the ratings.

They usually put the battery relay somewhere close to the batteries. I have not been into one of those so can't tell where to look. A parts diagram might help you.

There should be a fuse or fusible link next to the battery relay when you find it. If it is a fusible link the insulation will be all bubbled up. There may be a fuse on one wire also. The relay should have four terminals, two big ones that the battery leads hook to and two small ones. As I recall battery power goes to one of the small terminals and through a coil in the relay then out the other terminal and to the key switch in the cab. Turning the key to on grounds that circuit which energizes the coil and closes the relay so battery current will flow.

Mind you remember where that 'bad' spot was as most likely a fuse link and cooked out, there may be others relatively close.
