My little matsu quit today. I hit a few good bumps. I stopped to talk to the truck driver and it wouldn't start again. The battery relay was buzzing. Not loud or strong but was buzzin. I didnt have many tools wth me. Check all battery connection and tightened them. It looks like this relay breaks the ground wire. It definitely wasn't clicking like normal. I'll check tomorrow with a meter for voltage levels. I know one of the small 16ga wires on bottom left had ground and then when key switched on it went away. Just seems as something Jared loose. It had been working fine till that moment. Any ideas. Thanks

Just a thought , if you don't find any broken wires or loose wiring , check the battery or batteries and make sure they are putting out proper voltage. I learned the hard way that a battery can go bad in a second. I had a machine , D39Ex21A started great ran up until 3 in the afternoon. Shut it off went to town for a short break. Came back no start. Took batts off and tested them one barely passed the other was toast.

Check the voltage output at the alternator once its running. The alternator failing during operation and running the batteries down is a common problem.

Still haven't had much of an opportunity to work on it but I did check the voltage on the batteries and there good. battery relay is not switching over but when I jump across the main post and it still won't try to start I'm not getting power to the small wire on the starter soleniod so I got to do some more probing.

Safety switches ? Or maybe a starter relay. I'm not familiar with this particular tractor but have had similar problems. As you may well know even if a battery shows 12 volts or more , it may fall on its face when a load is put on it.

Tenfo. I'm sure it's something simple and/or the battery relay. My son will be running the other dozer this am so I'll be able to figure it out today.

Fixed it. It had a blown fuse so I had to see why. There was a 10ga wire behind dash that had been chewed and it was grounding out a n frame. Took a while to run it down because I couldn't see it. I knew it was a heavy wire because I jumped across the old fuse rather than replace it to start with and it made a heavy spark. All good now!!!
