1976 P 16, has the aluminum doors but small windows, next year they went to the big windows. Original owner was Percy Logging.

Greatwestcam My Dad got his new P16 in OCT 1976 and it was suppose to be the last small window P16 built. H40. I can dig out the build plate and maybe we can get Diamondtguy to run the number. Maybe it will say something in her build sheets. I could never understand the Williams air shifter mounted on the dash on them. Always looked like an afterthought. Seems to me that all the P16's after that one came with the electric shifters in them and mounted on a pedestal between the seats.

HDX the air shifter doubled as a coffee cup holder lol. sure would notice the difference in cabs from the big window vs small, the drivers seat felt far away from the door in the older cabs, to rest your arm on the sill you had to lean over to do it.
They also switched over to the bigger torque arms around this time 75-76 which was a big improvement, the 72 P-16 that I drove had that big plate between the diffs like the Hayes has (what is that for exactly) the trucks with big torque arms didn't need it anymore.

I received these pictures from Smith Wells he was the second owner of this truck and his company Capstan Hauling in Grande Prairie Alberta. He has sold this truck and it is still in use in Alberta.

Started as a Schlumberger truck in Norman Wells NWT. 3408 Cat PCTI. 450 horsepower with 12513.

After I bought it, installed a 38124 Manitex and eventually changed engine to N14 Cummins and 18 speed. 525 horsepower.

Eventually the picker had issues with the sub frame and once removed, decided to buy a tri drive as it was too heavy as a tandem/tandem.

Burnside Leasing was was a Company owned by Capstan Hauling and they bought the P-510 S as a 3 axle truck and latter on they rebuilt as a twin Steer. This truck had a sad ending when in 1998 Capstan Hauling shop burnt down and the Pacific was wrote off.

Just heard this fine morning that this 1988 P 510S is coming back to BC and will have a new home in Princeton. Was a Island truck when new, then went to Alberta, The picture with a fuel tank on is from 2005 and not my picture. From what I understand Jim want to rebuilt the Pacific and work in summer only and truck shows. I am sure some of our members will know lots about this truck, Camptramp for sure. I know the first thing is to get the Bear off the Rad.

Yes Hank,Chuck is known on the island. He was first owner. Also he has trusted me with his photo albums. I just need to contact camptramp so he can go over them and post on this site. Not sure if Chuck knows she is headed back to BC. He will be looking for a chance to catch up to her at her new home. Thanks. Bp
