    Klutch Tools

HAAAAAAAA!!! You bunch of debutants crack me up! I haven't logged into HF in 2 years after getting fed up with the better than though BS (Welder Dave; my crane pump mount is still to this day firmly in place where I welded it:p) but this was a post worthy of doing so! I bet most of you haven't...

    983B crank seized, now what?

For all those who were watching this thread, I finally found the reason for the seizen. The last stab at identifying the problem, I was in my old service truck and lacked a couple of special tools I have now that allowed me to get to the remaining #4 rod cap off which is directly above the...

    IH 175C Master Link

Here is an option that has worked for me on several machines lacking a master link. Both sides of my TD20B have this and makes for a low wear in outer panel and easily removable master pin. I pushed them out and polished them to a slip fit. Leave the bolt loose With a lock or double nut for...

Where do you draw a line on forum member responcibility?

I have heard of people using diesel (old #2) to do a quick flush at no load without issues. wornout wrench; One thing I am always quick to do when given sage advice is to show appreciation to those who have been willing to think deep, take time, and share their knowledge and experience with me...

Cummins B3.9-P; hole in block from balancer weight

Then a 4B is what I need. I have seen several on facebook marketplace for 1500 to 3K running. What I understand is a B3.9 is the ugly stepcousin to the 4B (3.9L) series. The 4's with no harmonic balancer must be drilled and counterweigthed internally.

Cummins B3.9-P; hole in block from balancer weight

I finally have an update on this hunk of junk. A service tech at Dallas Cummins was kind enough to find a parts breakdown of the offending balancer. With all our rain, I am getting some backlog and stale projects out and I made a call to see about parts. The balancer needs a shaft, 2 flyweights...

801 Ford Diesel low compression after rebuild

Wow. So had I. As I recall, I reringed it, had the valves checked over, and burned it in on my dyno. It was still a bit hard starting in cold weather but seemed to be good otherwise. Had a bit of an overrule issue we also had to deal with.

Old IH 175 B Parts and Information Search

The engine is the DT407, same as D361 and D407 used in 806 and 856 IH farm tractors. All States Ag parts will have the water pump. I have a TD20B which the oil cooler was ruined in and I mounted an used aluminum trans cooler with new hoses on it in front of the engine radiator. Ray's Used...

    You can't smell that?

I think about all the hay balers that have burned because the softy operator is buttoned up in a nice AC cab with his tunes jamming and can't smell anything until its an inferno and then they let the baler AND tractor burno_O. I had a bearing fail and noticed an excess load but knew exactly...

Land clearing, to burn or not to burn

brush piles on farms smoldering for days before the fire either extinguished itself, was put out or was spread out to put out and buried. I can attest to that. I went into a pile to sift that had been burned for likely 2 months and halfway through the pile I had flames coming up beside me. The...

Land clearing, to burn or not to burn

I am on a 70 acres so far brush and mostly smaller junk timber clearing job now (when dry weather permits restart) with my D6C and a JD 790ELC hoe. I clear with the hoe, push it up with the 6, let it set for a couple of weeks, burn and tend it as far down as it will go, let it cool and sift it...

    983B crank seized, now what?

I was supposed to meet with him and a local Cat guru before our latest monsoon set in and haven't been contacted since. With it drying out and on my mind, I'll make contact and see where the project is. I'm the only local equipped to handle it and the guru is contracted to a local landfill...

    Hydraulic driven waste oil pump

Take a look at this. Good company to deal with and they have a tech staff to talk to. https://www.surpluscenter.com/Hydraulics/Hydraulic-Pumps/Pump-Motor-Combo/Delta-Power-Hydraulic-Pump-Motor-Unit-PM23-9-8527.axd

D6C custom seat for tall operators?

I am 6'2" and my helper is 6'7" and the original seat on my D6C is killing us. I ran 4 hours today and ended up with aching knees and a sore but. Has anyone successfully put a different maybe suspended seat on one despite the trans check and fill location?
