How much work would it be to get to those seals? They aren't that much money to buy, and if its not a huge job, we have some time right now.

Well, you learn something new every day. We have the proper oil in stock now so we will get that in right away. I decided on tdto-50 for those compartments. I went through an exhaustive cross checking and comparison this winter to figure out what to use where, while trying to make some oils...

This is the right final drive. Iron and silicon are slowly creeping up. We use 75/140 or 75/90 across all final drives. Just to standardize. Thats a habit thats been in place for a lot of decades. Never had a reason to change

No leaks. Oil levels are up. Hopefully you can read that. I didn't take a pic of the oil plug. Its magnetic, had nothing metalic you could feel, but had a teaspoon of thick black goo on it. It wiped off easily so it wasn't particularly magnetic. It looked more like a combustion sludge...

This is the first thread for this problem. There isn't much more to tell. No visible symptoms. Just a bad oil sample. Oil has about 500 hours on it. Machine has about 8000 hours on it. Ive owned it for 5 years The black goo is telling me there is something going on. May need a...

Volvo EC210B engine dying with any action. How to diagnose - engine or hydraulic?

We had a 240b and found that problem( suddenly dying ) was caused by failing relays in the fuse panel. Look for those black ice cube relays, replace them all. They get really hot in the volvos

Hi Guys, Please move this thread if there is a better place for it. I am looking to bid my first government job. There is a road cut and pipe installation involved. The road is a tertiary, not a main road. Its a paved side road. Pipe depth is about 8' below the road deck. The engineer is...

    544K road speed too slow!

Good news, there was a 5th gear available in the settings. Will take it out on the road and have a go.

Clarification. I know I am in 4th gear on the road. 3 distinct gear changes put me in 4th. Does this setting affect the speed in 4th somehow?

    544K road speed too slow!

Sorry, i missed your reply. I wanted to clear that up. In that pic i was focused on what the display showed for available gears. I have 4 distinct gears. There are 3 distinct gear changes. Warmed up, the machine does 15mp at 2200 rpm, flat pavement. Stall test: 3rd gear wide open, brakes...

    544K road speed too slow!

The air inlet sensor short is the only active code. The others are stored.
