    Insurance bought my D8H. So I bought a d7h

So my 8H high horse had a fire start under the trans and burnt all the hoses. We got it out but it got hot enough to boil the oil in the torque so they wrote it off. I thought it was rather unfortunate because it was a premium old unit. And searching for a good used dozer can be time consuming...

Any old pony engine pros here?

First off I want to say that I live in a cold climate and do not want to convert. I have a d8h and d7e. Both with pony engines. All of a sudden I've been having issues with the pinion only connecting with the ring gear by about 1/4" I pull the motors out, and under full engagement the...

    D7E-47A pony engine parts?

as you can see there's some chipped\worn teeth on the backside of the flywheel, so obviously that wont work with the pup anymore since it engages from the back. would converting it to electric be an option since starters engage from the front side?

    D7E-47A pony engine parts?

I need to pull out my pony engine. I think the bendix gear has a bad tooth. it jumps around pretty badly and engages rough. is there anywhere left to get parts for these old girls? I prefer not to convert to electric if I don't have to.

lots of pressure washing and industrial degreaser. i did wetsand the tin parts to get the old paint runs out. you have to clean, clean, clean and clean some more! the old paint actually acts as a good primer. use industrial paint with quick drying activator in it. rustoleums are crappy...

    Torque Convertor Troubles

i had a similar issue with my d8h. it would push well until it got hot then it would flood the TC. so i pulled off the scavange pump and took it apart. the facings and bushings were totally wore out. put on a new pump and it's been good ever since. it was easy to pull off on my cat but am...
