Volvo EC210B engine dying with any action. How to diagnose - engine or hydraulic?

Well we did have some luck FwF! The turbo is toast, totally siezed, with no apparent downstream trauma. So we will replace that and then see about a few codes that were showing up. Thanks for your help!

Volvo EC210B engine dying with any action. How to diagnose - engine or hydraulic?

Thanks FWF for your prompt reply! The owner didn't know if any of your suggested areas had been checked. We will go and have a look Tuesday or Thursday, machine is 40kms away. I read in one of your previous posts, mid last year concering a EC240CL, where you gave instruction on getting the...

Volvo EC210B engine dying with any action. How to diagnose - engine or hydraulic?

Friends' ( a father and son ) 10,000hr excavator has lain useless for 12 months after this "sudden" developement. Hydraulic technician has checked pressures as correct and is unable to help further, auto electrician determined the problem to be fuel related, so filters changed, tank cleaned...

I have the info you might need. If you give me your phone number, I can take a pic of a couple of pages of the service manual

    PC 130-6 FINAL DRIVE

I have a couple of pages describing the Hydash, from an 80's model Kato service manual, that show the timing marks and the installing position, perhaps still has some relevance to your model? Unfortunately, I don't know how to put the scans on here, apparently too large

Plan A: Cut tandem drive in half to convert to "pull grader"

Yeah fair enough. However, I am not totally dissuaded yet! Asuming I added some appropriate ballast, what would be other difficulties you see in doing the conversion in this way? I still see a big advantage in rear steer for windrow offsetting and maneuverability in tight spots etc. As well...

Plan A: Cut tandem drive in half to convert to "pull grader"

I am planning to bring back to life my old 12 tonne Steelweld hydraulic (similar to Huber) by retaining the front end intact, and arranging the pull to be at about the centreline of where the tandem assembly lies. I would in effect be "blading backwards". I think this would be an easier...

    Huber Grader Questions

just thought I would connect with you. I have a Steelweld 130, made in AU probably under licence, which is very similar to the photo posted. I have a parts manual somewhere, that might not help you though. Mine has a cummins C160 in atm, originally a supercharged Cummins and a 3x2 Dana trans

    Twin powered Fordson 6yd scraper

I was keen on purchasing one of these scrapers, now a towed model, parked on a Northern Grampians shire (Victoria) farm 2 years ago, that is until the owner informed me that his 250 hp+ Waltanna was about the right size for it! The fordsons had long exited the machine. I had some photos, but I...

    Needing help in finding information.

I wouldn't get too excited on that point! For instance, I was told when offered a going 1220 SE for scrap value "it will all fit your 1220 SE11 no worries" . All major componentry DIFFERENT, even major cab size change and track link count. If any similarities, these Katos seem to carry same...

    Needing help in finding information.

G`day Trev. They were a popular brand once. When excavators first came to these parts, they were known as "katos", that still persists, despite their being few working examples left! I am sitting here looking at 2 Kato service manuals, HD-1220 SE and HD-770 SE11. These are in my office, because...

    New track motor won't turn

My old Kato needs the final drive cluster gears to be timed, ( I don't know if that is common to other brands) otherwise it would be locked up and possibly smash. Any chance yours was assembled out of time?
