Hi John, yes you may be correct with the 631's not belonging to JR Bishop. For whatever reason I always thought they were but after thinking about I don't recall seeing it in writing any where. Must have been one of the other contractors working at Benmore at the time. Thanks Mr Euclid -

Hi, Would the photo of the 16TDT and crowd be taken at a golf course in the Wellington area? There was a picture in the book on the history of Clyde Engineering that has a very similar look and is of a Dryden scraper on a golf course and the caption mentioned it was the first 16TDT in NZ... -

IH2T55 scraper
MOW 495 Scrapers Yes my records indicate 15no. as well. Picture attached is the only one I could find and shows a few of them climbing the dam ramp at Benmore. You can tell that they must be old as they all came in the red paint scheme that IH used in the early days. Cheers -

Assuming their wasn't anymore imported into NZ, which is pretty likely, I think a few even made it to the late 70's/early 80's as I recall seeing one in Baker Constructions livery working on the Clyde Dam. Will see if i can find a picture or two of them at Benmore. Cheers -

Mangla Dam
No, just 'Mangla Dam'. There are also a few pictures of the Trinity Dam project that Guy F Atkinson built in the 60's in California and a few more of MK's causeway across the Great Salt Lake in Utah.
