    Can GPS help a young in experienced operator do quality professional grading?

    GPS Grading GPS is obviously a great aid to grader/machine control for all sorts of levelling and construction. For my 2 cents worth, operating a grader is more than just that, especially for civil works. It covers items such as- -knowing how to blade mix your material correctly...

    Now I know why front wheels tilt, what about this?

    For light work. If you run your machine on about 1/3 articulation with the toe of the mouldboard inside the line of drive tyres you can run one set of drive wheels on finished surface. This means the toe of the mouldboard is less affected by machine movement. Not for every situation.

    How many patterns are you competent on?

    Backhoe to excavator not a problem until someone changes excavator over to backhoe pattern. Then I'm buggered. Three/four stick, you must be on hourly rate not contract.

    How does the joystick steering go when trimming along kerbs? Not too twitchy? Obviously have not seen one in the flesh.

    What are some of the things wrong why my boom piston bounces a lot?

    Try an oil analysis, could be water in the oil. As the oil gets hot the water will vapourise easily in low pressure suction line at the pump. These do not dissipate and then you have bubbles in your oil giving all sorts of strange noises as it passes though valves, pumps and other resrictions...
