    Strange buyer's

Had a bass boat, 17' Starcraft, had a Merc 45 jet drive outboard. Yes, it was different. Listed it on c-list (stupid). After all the lookie loos got weeded out, got a serious buyer that wanted to see it. Guy comes out, "I brought my mechanic!" Good for you. Checked it out....compression test...

    Overload of the Day

A friend owned a large fab/steel supply business. I rember the dumpster "spear" they made for the local landfill. It would fit in a loader bucket and was used to loosen over-compacted dumpsters..... Bet it had 200lbs of mig wire in all the layers of steel to build it. Ed

I asked my hoarder father...."I found it". Well, you should have left it there. It's new storage place is in the village dumpster...

I had a skid steer grapple bucket on c-list. Guy comes to look at it. "Think I'll pass" Ok, thanks Guy goes out one side of the circle drive and back in the other, gets out, changed my mind! I'll take it. Hands me the cash. Lol...wtf? Ed

Drott 40a. I need to identify a bucket that is on it to get a replacement pin.

I would use 4140 pre heat treat. Much stronger than the 1045. Ed

Source for Dodge 5500 axle parts?

Find a Dana distributor....there is a number stamped on the axle tube, close to the center section, he will need it to get parts. What truck its in means nothing to his system. Google "torque king 4x4". Ed

    Quality Hex Bit Sockets

I've a few, they are good. Never "pushed" them like a tech would. Apex is aimed at the manufacutring market than repair. Lots of special bits/sockets for production assembly. Ed

    Mulching - "The Daily Grind"

We have 3 large (24") nat gas lines less than 1/4 mile behind my house. Many moons ago I came home from work, heard this "noise".....wtf? Grabbed a beer, back in the truck. DTE deciced to clear their pipeline that hadn't been touched since the early 60's when it was put in. Drove back and wtf is...

    Overload of the Day

Roll-offs and flatbed trucks are not a good thing to move equipment. Just to tall to begin with. I've seen the results of a D4 on a flatbed truck and a low overpass. The rops was bent over backwards..the rr bridge looked fine, lol. Ed
