    Need a starter..whats a good brand?

Be interesting to know what part failed on your starter. Might just be a wire or something simple, not needing a complete rebuild, just a repair. 40 years on a starter is impressive. I wouldn't toss it out or replace it until I knew what exactly failed.

    Need a starter..whats a good brand?

Maybe check around for a place that can rebuild your old one. Sounds like it was a good starter.

    773 won't start

What do you suppose the clunk is? Starter gear trying to engage the flywheel? First thing I'd do, is to loosen the starter, re-position it and bolt it tight. Shimming might be required.

    Pickup with minimum ground pressure

Yep, the site is acting funny. Same thing is happening to me.

    773 won't start

Sounds like a bad, (shaft bearing), or misaligned, (improperly shimmed), or wrong (tooth), starter to me.

    New Haul Trucks

Our company is looking at replacing their fleet of haul trucks. We have six Volvo A40F's, probably from around 2010-12. We have regen, dropbox, axle and electrical problems that plague production. Anyway, problems aside, Volvo makes very comfortable equipment to operate, when they run. I...

Angle Blade vs. Straight Blade on Mini Ex

What are you going to use the blade for? Putting the trail in around the property? Those blades are usually used for back filling your ditch and to stabilize the excavator while digging. If you are going to use the excavator as a part time bulldozer, you might be buying the wrong piece of...

Building a farm road dozer, excavator, or ?

One thing about a borrow pit, it could be turned into a nice pond after your done. Assuming there is some ground water to fill it. Sump water can be handy on a farm as well.

    Homemade Tools!

Anyone modified a floor jack like this? I'm getting ready to cut up my brand new one, to build one like it. Also planning to put small pneumatic tires on the front legs. I like the idea of higher lift, more stability and better mobility.

Building a farm road dozer, excavator, or ?

You might try to find out what's below the clay layer, (not in the middle of your road, of course). Maybe there is a better source of fill material just below the clay. If you find better fill material, strategically plan a borrow pit somewhere on your property. You may also need good material...

Brand New unused 966K with this malfunction

On our stupid Volvo's, a lot of the time, turning off the battery main disconnect, master switch, for 10 minutes, fixes a lot of electrical issues like that. Lol. It could be a sensor starting to go out/or loose connection, giving an infrequent error code to the computer. If that doesn't work...

    Tripods

Maybe check a survey supply shop. The ones we use lasts for 10 years. Just have to take care of them and refinish (wood), them every couple of years. But they are not 8 footers. Look here for some ideas, v v (I'd guess the more you pay, the better they will be, (and the better you will care for...

    Used Mini Excavator Buying Tips?

I wouldn't know. I bought an operational Hitachi EX80 a few years ago w/ 9,000 hours for $11,000, just for an idea. Think I got a decent deal on it, but it was a much older model than the one your looking at.

    Used Mini Excavator Buying Tips?

I've been told that 12,000 hours, the machine is close to dying. And that they are generally not rebuilt, but scrapped for parts. Just some advice I got when shopping for a mini ex. Probably OK if you aren't expecting to use it much and can get it at a cheap price.
