    Kubota KX057/U55 Diverter Valve Question

    Does anyone know what size fitting fits the diverter valve on the stick? One side goes to the thumb and the other has a plug in it. I was thinking of removing the plug and putting on a quick connect but don't know the thread size.

    Should the bucket width be wider than the thumb? The thumb on my U55 is about 13" wide so would a 12" bucket work? How useful would a rake be compared to just the bucket for picking up stuff with a thumb? Something like this...

    The main use right now is for stump removal. I'm sure other projects will come along around my house later on. Got to put some time on the thing though. I give you guys a lot of credit for being able to operate an excavator skillfully. Sure ain't as easy as you guys make it look.

    Just got delivered this morning. Never ran a mini ex before so need to put some hours on it. Will be for use just around the house like getting stumps out. Ordered a ripper but it's on back order. Getting a small pole barn built to park it in since my shop door is too short.
