Logging Accidents: And They Walked Away.........

This was somewhere in Alberta, the guy lived if I remember right. He was talking on his cell phone and ran into the slow moving hook truck.

    My new buttontop

I wouldn't go that route, the highwalker is longer and wider, you'll be alot less stable, and more tippy with a grapple full, less productive, and harder to get rid of. If you don't know what shape your undercarriage is in, get someone out to look at it, might save you some money. Maybe you just...

    What would you do???

If the land was just cleared, is there any slash piles to build a haul road out of? I would use slash or logs, to firm up the troubled sections, or mud mats if you have a bunch. The loaded trucks can drive on the haul road, and the empty ones can take their own path back.

Everything should just slide right out when the tracks out of the way, and the idler will probably be bolted to the track adjuster, but I have seen them seperate from the adjuster just butted up to it:beatsme Just remember which side is which on the adjuster/ new idler so you don't put it...

    JD 640 winch

From what I remember using a winch, they will stall out if your reeling in at idle or low rpm, but at full throttle it break the mainline real easy. I would think there would be a clutch pack in there in order for it to act like that, just like the diffs, and transmission work. So I guess it...

another operator having a bad day

Just a little cosmetic damage... So easy to judge.. Must be a terrible operator because a good one wouldn't make a mistake right? If tipped over once he'll probably make a habit out of it I can only guess.. Mistakes are made by the best of us, with minor consequences all the time...

Low power and lots of smoke(complete overhaul)D6H

Boost Leak? If the turbo is new, what about these pieces, dried up, and leaking? What about the hose clamps, could be striped if reused? I had a leak here before causing low power.

Who runs C-B's in there equipment?

The channels used around here go from 150.xxx to the high 162.xxx. I think the wikipedia article is a bit misleading, That seems to apply.... Although some channels in this range may be marine, others are not... Some railways may have channels in this range, but so do some bush...

Who runs C-B's in there equipment?

Around here everyone uses VHF, In equipment and in pickups. CB's would be useless for all the bush roads ect.
