Starts and runs, but has a few issues before it's ready for work. The emergency brake valve next to the seat was leaking and wouldn't build pressure, I got a rebuilt one locally. The valve in front of it had a broken lever, also got a new one. I'm thinking it's a 4WD switch, not sure. I have a parts manual coming today, no service manual yet.

Also the transmission is leaking, there's a pretty good drip coming off the small round thing with hose towards center of the picture (underside view). A friend thinks it might be an inching valve. This picture was taken right after pressure washing, it still has water on it.

Here's a before cleaning picture, whatever the round thing is attached to is also wet. Not sure if it's also leaking, or it's just transferring. The machine is almost two hours away, I will be up there the next few days working on it. Will change the air valves and see about stopping the trans leak.

The transmission leak was coming from above that part, and it's so far up its hard to tell what's happening. Maybe taking off the fender will expose it. Fixed the air leak at the emergency brake valve only to find the rear power cluster (can) that pushes on the master cylinder had an even bigger air leak, put on a spare that bench tested good. Haven't had a chance to try and bleed the brakes yet. Did a lot of pressure washing so I can see what I'm looking at. The steering hydraulic all leaked out between my last two trips up there, both steer cylinders are leaking. The exhaust manifold was loose on the engine, and the gasket bad. I took the manifold off and am going to try and find a gasket.

The local Detroit Diesel dealer had the two gasket halves in stock, six something each. I got the other power cluster being rebuilt. I also have the rod and clevis coming to connect the parking brake linkage, it was missing. I won't be back up there for another week, should have the parts by then.

We had a 72-10 and a 72-51. The ten never had many problems but it was a gutless machine. The 51 had s ton of power but something was always breaking. the 51 had the same style exhaust manifold. It was always blown open and LOUD!!!. We didn't have the money for new so we'd patch it over and over. My ears still ring from that machine and that's the truth I got tinnitus form running it! I have bad hearing loss and I think most of it came from running that thing. Back in the day REAL MEN didn't wear hearing protection. LOL

The piece with two Allen heads bolted on behind the steering box is a control valve, its leaking out of the top cover. I found a parts diagram, the only "seal" it shows is a solid rubber piece under the raised round part of the strap across the Allen heads. oarwhat did you work on this or any of the other stuff I'm working on?

The book shows this, but it's a book for a six year older machine.

Our machines were older and we owned them over 30 years ago so I can't help much. Is that control for the trans mission declutch?

We got the brakes working. Tried to figure out what the manufacturer was doing with components and hoses my ag mechanic friend said weren't needed, he called them fancy. After getting nowhere doing that all day yesterday without a manual, today we hooked up only the air hoses and components he said were needed.

Thought we were gonna reseal the steer cylinders, but wrong packing. It came with the machine, doh! I have the right part number to order a seal kit for them. Need the bushings too, they're worn.

Of the three brake components you showed that you found replacements for, can you name each one and where you found them please? Also cost? I have a 32-71B that needs the part that looks like a brake booster. I think it converts air pressure to hydraulic pressure. Thank you!
