THOSE THINGS NEED SAVED!!! i cant yell that loud enough! some one for the love of god rescue these trucks from the scrappers!

That Oakland built Pete is the cats pajamas and that kenworh isnt far behind.

What's the scoop on an "Oakland built Pete"....I'm not up on the fine details and history of these trucks.

Dont quote me but that is one of the style of Petermans trucks that had a lot of the "Faegol" heritage still in it. The transition trucks between Faegol going under and stuff headed to Freightliner and Peterbuilt. Not certain but if you wanted the experts to look try the Hays truck museum in Woodland Ca... Way more archival than me... RAD FIND THOUGH!!!!!! REally cool and thanks for sharing!

Originally T.A. Peterman began building trucks by rebuilding old army trucks and converting them and installing electric starters.

After acquiring the assets of the Fageol Motors including the Oakland Assembly plant where they made trucks in 1939. this was the only plant building peterbilts from 1939-1960 when they opened their Newark assembly plant. Not a lot of these brutes survive today and the old factory in Oakland was developed and turned into a shopping plaza.

thats the short story.

I believe thats a 280 model truck

Currious if they are for sale or need a good home. I have an interested party that would like to restore both trucks....

They have been removed from the wonderful park like setting that they sat in for decades. There are discussions and negotiations ongoing to get them both restored. It's just a matter of who is going to do the work. Unless something goes amazingly sideways, they will be staying in here in British Columbia ( west coast of Canada ) for the rebuild work.
