Dumb question,,

Is it possible to switch the controls on the 416c backhoe...switch the "boom" stick to the opposite side and the "stick" stick to the other side..do you follow me??

Thanks!

thanks for the help guys, will have to check under the left fender tmr to see if it has the valve control switch!! keeping my fingers crossed :D

i run a kobelco excavator usually 3 times a week, boom and stick are exact opposite of the 416, very irritating at times!!! :Banghead

If there is no switch, take the plastic cover off at the controls and you'll see the linkage going from the pivot point to the valves, see if you can't switch the linkage.

There is no switch on the C model 416=they are not pilot control. The switch uinder the fender arrived with the 420Ds. 416Ds remained mechanical controls to save costs so Cat could offer a lesser expensive backhoe. You will have to buy the different linkage required for the different control pattern. Check your Cat dealer for new parts or try 2nd Steel for used.

found them, no luck on their website. will maybe call them to see

Yes, call them. They can get what you need. I have purchased the parts to switch my 416C from Sherman controls to Cat controls. If you have the parts manual you can find the Cat part numbers yourself. Be sure to have your serial number handy when you call 2nd Steel.
