Will the boom with stand using the bucket like a front end loader on a daily basis since it is just a single arm compaired to 2 on everything else? Does the Case/Ih or Ford make a reliable unit? Thanks for any and all comments!

I have a 2009 CAT 262C Skidsteer. It runs fine in the winter, but when the summer comes around, It runs fine for about 2 hours (depending on how hot the weather is) before it starts to misfire and occasionally cough up some white smoke, will no longer rev up, and loses all hydraulic power - this eventually leads to it quitting until it has cooled down again. I have replaced the fuel pump, and the fuel filter, and the air filters are brand new. I ran the fuel delivery pump to test the lines, and all of the fuel lines are clear, and I bled out the air all the way to the injector lines. All fluids are new, clean and topped up. Has anyone else had this issue, or have any idea what it might be caused by? The troubleshooting section in my CAT manual is not giving me any new leads. None of the diagnostic codes have anything to do with the fuel system, and I am getting frustrated with how often the machine has to sit and cool down...

So...
A senior expert injector dude tells me. (Working on a CAV pump)
The pump gets lubricated ONLY by the diesel fuel and this does not have the best lubricants in it currently.
From the pumps prospective here is the best advice.

"For a 5 gallon can of diesel fuel, add about 2 or 3 cap-fulls of the cheapest ATF transmission fluid you can buy into the tank."

He says this lubricates the internal parts of the pump and will even make it run quieter.
No black smoke (unless you add way too much) and will not harm the injectors nor the engine.

I somehow wonder if this is maybe a controversial idea.
He does not necessarily oppose additives, but says they are no better than a small amount of ATF fluid.
He says this will make the pump last forever and minimize leaks.

He also says a gallon of Kerosene in a tank of fuel will clean the entire fuel system including the injectors.
