My old Clark Lift C 500 fork lift's main cylinder was leaking very badly so I took it into a hydraulics shop and had it rebuilt. After installing it again, the carriage will not go all the way to the floor under its own weight, nor will the carriage rise very far. Is there any special thing I have to do to bleed the hydraulic system? I tried opening the small plug on the top of the cylinders, and a bit of air came out, but the lift only goes up a few feet and then stops. Does anyone know the procedure to bleed the cylinders? Or anything else I might try to get the thing to operate properly.

Thanks for any help. It's an old unit and I don't have any manuals to go with it.

Hello All,

These are the filter part numbers NAPA had for my backhoe. I asked for the recommended numbers as I do not know that the filters on there were the correct ones and I Have yet to pull the air filter or the hydraulic filter. I plan on using Chevron Delo 400 15W-40. I was told the tractor spec is straight 40W. I don't mind using straight 40W but I can't find that spec anywhere. Here goes the part numbers on the filters, all NAPA GOLD.

3373 (secondary fuel), 3472 (primary Fuel with bleed valve), 1158 (engine oil filter), 2669 (Air filter), 1493 (Hydraulic filter)

I have the most difficult time finding information on this tractor on the internet.

Good luck all !! Hope this helps !! :cool2

Take Care,

One more question about my '02 wa180. Have almost all of he bugs worked out of it.
When you first start it you can float the arms for back blading. after it starts to warm 5 minutes or so, the float feature is gone. You can feel in the joystick that the lever has the travel;however you have very little area that has the float position, and it soon goes away.
How does someone adjust this? It looks like that lever is run via oil? not cables. It has lines running down from the cab to the front of the machine where the valves are located, they are soft, not hard like a cable wound line.
Is it possible that they may need bleeding? any help would be appreciated.

Also that wouldn't be breaking any forum rules would it? They are just general questions, nothing promotional, so I figure I would receive some love for that.

I am going to need to retrofit two trucks with DPFs for California in the next year or two. Both are KW T300s. One has a C7 about 300 HP built in '04 and the other has an ISC at 315 HP built in '06. Both have the big muffler with internal catalyst. The C7 one is a beavertail that runs long distances and then gets shut down making it the best candidate I think. The ISC one does very short deliveries from one driveway to the next.

I would love to know what people's experiences have been on these things; if they are reliable and what the best manufacturers of them are. The good, bad, and ugly.
