View Full Version : Paving Machine for Grandson
I am looking for a paving machine for my grandson.I bought him one a couple of years ago but it is not big enough to be used with the rest of his fleet.
I think it was 1/87 scale.I need something that is about 4" long and nobody seems to produce such a thing.I don't care what brand it is....Blaw Knox or whatever but Kyle just about disowned me for that one,I am like the family member noone talks about.LOL.
I am sure some of you folks that have model equipment can point me in the right direction but my searches on ebay and Google do not come up with much.Thanks.Ron G

You want pavers? Here ya' are...http://dhsdiecast.com/shop/search_results.cfm
1/50 scale should fall between 4-6 inches in length. Keep buying in this scale, and standardize his fleet!
Hope this helps!

Still looking, thanks to all of you for the links.I have a suspicion that 4" is not big enough after I have gotten a look at them.1/50 scale is out of the question.Maybe 1/24th or bigger will please him.I keep telling him that he has to hurry to get the asphalt down before the plants close,he loves it:))Ron G

I emailed him early this morning for dimensions.Waiting to hear back. Thanks for the tip.Ron G
Here is the paver that I ended up with.I actually bought the dumptruck too that you see in an earlier post by N.CarolinaDozer.I took several pics of different angles to show you the detail of it.It was about 10" long and I placed a D cell beside it in some of the pics for reference.
I hope that kid can use it!!:D
Thanks for the help and extensive links to other sites.Ron G
Here are a few more.I have others of higher quality if anyone is interested by chance.I reduced them to 50% of the original size to post online.Ron G

Very nice. Wish I had one in 1:50
Well, here is the update.........I was told that he opened the package and said "MMMMMM,bubble wrap!!!".What a rascal!!Then he said "I asked the elves to build me one".The saga continues,I have not talked to him yet.He knows how hard it has been to find one big enough to do any work and look reasonable next to his other equipment, time will tell.Ron G
