That machine looks wide sitting on that rail car. I like that folding plow on the rear.
Your tracks don't need testing do they?
Maybe I could get to go up there too.:D

Congratulations:drinkup
I bet it will serve u well for many years:D
And please, if u can, take some pics the same style as of the Deere and the M so we can look at the difference.
The Vammas/Veekmas is different in design to all the others, with the articulation in front of the cabin.:)
And i bet cat still has a way to go, before they get the same view out front as the Veekmas got.
And here u see all the advantage in a sloping frame, instead of the high one on the M and Deere.:)
I noticed one thing: Is there a weight under the arms for your front blade?
Is that because of the gravel spreader? Too light at the front...

The extra weight is monted at rear instad of windrow spreader.
this grader is 21,500 kg on this picture.

Thats cool, especially with all the bells and whistles. Where is Veekmas from?

Bellboy, its Scandinavias last graderproduser.:D
There was two produsers untill this year:
Vammas and Veekmas, both are prodused in Finland.
Veekmas is a firm with roots back to the Mattson grader.
Vammas was a part of the Finnish Vammas firm who makes airport equipment.
They is owned på Patria again.
The grader production by Vammas was like a smal corner in the production hall...:)
Veekmas bought all the shares in Vammas this year.
The grader posted here is a "Vammas" modell.
This RG 281 is the last modell made by Vammas. There is also a 286 with 6wd and a smaler 181.(not shure about the 181, it looks like its taken over by the Veekmas modell)
Veekmas now have 3 locations, one in Sweden, the "Vammas" factory and their mother factory in north finland.:D
Popular graders here in Scandinavia.
They even got a 4wd lowprofile mine grader.
I call them road maintenance machines, not graders...
Here is their website:

As MKTEF already said Veekmas is Finnish.
Patria Vammas might be better known as a maker of military apcs under the brand Patria. Vammas also make heavy duty snowremoval equipment for airports.
The Swedish factory of Veekmas/Vammas company once made the Mattson graders (Ex Norverk I belive) so they do have some history to live up to.
Also ... That grader really dont have that many bells and whistles! They come with alot of stuff as standard. Scandinavian operators are spoiled!

Plowking, I doubt there is a north american dealer. A non american brand just doesnt sell to well on your side of the pond ...

On that page you have the number (And picture!) to the export manager for Veekmas. Looks like she is worth a call :D
MKTEF what are your work on grader maintenance or under asphalt?
we maintenance and finish for asphalt olso and we hope it is as nice as volvo,
he got stability and nice gearbox with lock up system to lock gearbox strait to
the engine, there is a converter gearbox not cluts
blade is 4,3 m. there is moba computer and it seems to work as well as Trimple.

We do gravel road maintenance, construction and sometimes finnish work under asphalt. Last time we did asphalt preparing was when we build the camp in North Afghanistan.
Then we levelled the whole camp for either asphalt, gravel or concrete.:)
I know your 281 well, i had a new 286 for testing for a week in 2006.
For road maintenance it is a very good grader, not any others that has a bether view to the blade.:)
The one i tested didn't have the joysticks, it had all the hydraulics on the right hand in the console. Main functions where very close to each other, right by your fingertips. Driving by the left hand.
I didn't like the 6wd, and felt it was to soft in the frame for the rough use we put the graders into.
I beliewe u got lockup too, it locks when u get some speed/RPM on the engine.
And i see u got a 50 mark at the back, bet it does 60...
And Veekmas got a lot of good solutions that all you others should take a look at.
Blade holders, tool brackets and more.

I do like the folding windrow eliminator design. Is this an after market attachment or do they build it?

Looks like quite a machine! Thanks for the pictures

Wow, great pictures!!!! Everything about this machine is different from what we are used to here with Cat and Deere. I gotta digest these pictures a little more to even know where to start with comments!!! This thread should stir some serious discussion about differences in design.
So I'll start with the articulation. My drivers platform stays with the front frame beam. If I'm grading in an articulated position I am sitting at an angle with my direction of travel. If I'm articulated a lot such as I was yesterday dragging weeds I am looking out the corner of the cab and after a few hours I found myself shifting in the seat to get more comfortable. This design would not have that issue. What is the disadvantage of this system??

I noticed the circle design and circle side shift are completely different than what I'm used to. It appears the blade cannot be rotated in a complete circle. Does this design limit the use of the blade?? Is there ever a time when you wish the blade would rotate further??
If I'm cleaning a V bottom ditch and wanting to roll the material up the bank I can shift my circle to the right side for example, put the right tires of the machine in the bottom of the ditch, put the toe or front end of the blade just behind my right front tire or even a little outside the tire print, put the heel or rear end of the moldboard up on the bank and do my work completely outside of the tracks of the machine. Is this possible with this design??
If you have the circle in the normal position or shifted to the left do you ever feel like the end of the circle shift cylinder is at risk of hitting something?? It looks like it's normal position is almost horizontal with the end of the cylinder sticking out the right side of the machine?? I sometimes find myself working a ditch and dodging electrical poles. Sometimes I have to pay close attention to the top of the cab to keep from smacking it on a pole if I'm leaning. Would this cylinder be in the way in that situation??

Can you comment on the controls as to what each joystick does?? Can you choose to steer with a joystick or the steering wheel?? You posted great pictures, I just can't figure out what each stick does from the pictures alone. All comments about the controls inside the cab would be appreciated.
I've got several more questions but will wait for your replies to the ones above before going on. Thanks again for posting these pictures and we'll look forward to updates about this machine. It's definitely outside the bubble for what we are used to seeing here!!! :notworthy
here are the controls,i can steer with joystick and the hydraulic system is nice,
the blade cannot be rotated in a complete circle, i have to post more pic of blade movements,i have a ditch wing not with hydraulic,i am use to this wing
