and it did ;) next time you should have a helmet cam, then you could operate the machine smoothly also ;) :D
I will try to glue my camera stand to the D41, so i can make a video also :D
HEY JIM!
nice set of sales broshures! would you have one for the D41s also?
I would be interested in buying D41 and MF3366 broushures if someone has them for sale!

Hi Sparffo....How are you going with the D41S? Is it turning into a dream,or still a nightmare?
When I get time,I'll try to post the 3366 brochure & a page of D41.I don't have much D41 info, but will see what I have.
DirtDigger...nice to see the footage of the Cat.They are still excellent machines.

Hi Jim I see no Case brouchers?
Would you have any idea if that hitachi trackloader in the power farming manual is a fiat?
JimInOz

Hi Dogger....I think the Hitachi /Fiat thing is a recent development....that pic is from the 60s.Hitachi may have sold a few dozers into Oz back then, although I never saw one.

Hi Dogger,
I was going thru the brochures today & decided that they aren't much good, unless they can be seen.I know I always like to see different stuff, esp. if it deals with older machines.I prefer stuff from the 50s-80s,esp. Drotts.
New gear earns the bucks, but I prefer sitting on an open ROPS 955L,or JD350CE.
Where are you located Dogger,& what's your fave machine.?

Hi Sparffo....How are you going with the D41S? Is it turning into a dream,or still a nightmare?
I have been working on a concrete pad to drive the machinees on when they need attention. the pad is ready now, i must take some pics of it and upload ;)
I hope I have time to steam wash the machine this weekend so i can begin wrenching on it. before i have done all the repairs on the dirt, man it has sucked... you loose a lot of nuts and bolts in the dirt! not to mention the rain...
but now i have the pad to work on so it's a lot easyer to remove the shields on the machine!
hopefully i have it working next week, i'm quite late on the project that i have to do with it.
I'll keep you informed ;)

It would probably not even break a hard boiled chiken egg :D
but it could be a good base machine for a lawn mover! :D

Really nice collection of brochures, I'd be especially interested in the one for the Cat 983 and the T-4 traxcavator. Been looking for a brochure on the T7 traxcavator for years and never seen one!
Funnily enough I have a brochure on a machine called the EB11, made by a company called Pel-Job (since bought out by Volvo). Its basically a skid steer loader, but with proper crawler undercarriage. Very unusual, not something I've ever seen before. If I can get my old scanner working I'll certainly post the front page and specification sheet of it if anyone's interested.
I've seen a couple Komatsu D41S trackloaders here in the UK. Supposedly Cat 941/943 size from what I've been told. To see a D155S would surely be something however...;)

Just found a couple of pictures of an EB11 online:

Just the machine for moving bales around the inside of a barn where there isn't much space. Obviously lacking the stacking height offered by a forklift however...a nice looking machine none-the-less.

Gavin ,
Thanks for the links.I'd never seen the EB11 before.THe Euro market is always different....like with the Macmoters & Benati....which seem to get bought by Fiat or others when they take a market share.
The 983 Brochure cost me $50 last year on EPAY ...the Trackson was a pic of a item on EPAY in the US.There are a few good sellers in the USA & also here in Oz there are a few really great sellers of brochures.I haven't bought too many, just collected them over 30 years.
Sparffo...good luck with the D41.If you need a machine to clean your belly plates...get a RAMMAX!

G'Day Jim
well lets just say i been bought up a Case man. Infact i learnt on a 850D track loader. It is just to bad the market for the track loader was not as popular as a excavator or a rubber tyre loader. The way you can utalies a track loader compared to machines is incredable. Gotta love the power of these beauties.

Hey Dogger,
I was lucky enough to sit on a new 855D in 1986,as a learner.I refused to move over to excavators,so stayed on Drotts & became a dinosaur.I like the ability of excavators ,but dislike operating them.
The Case Drotts have good buckets for fine work. Most Case guys stick with them.
Is that small Komatsu dozer yours? Is it a commercial machine,or farm unit?

Hi Jim
Thanks for your feedback. I do remember seeing a couple of the smaller Benati excavators (models 3.15 and 3.18) some years ago at a plant/tool hire place, although it was years before I managed to find out what company produced those machines.
The Rammax LR2 really surprises me, never knew they even made such a machine although I did see a number of small Rammax compactors in Canada on my last trip. That LR2 machine looks an interesting machine, would love to see a spec sheet/sales brochure on that!

Hi Dogger,
Nice looking Dozer.I can get track parts if you need them.I have some new Berco chains here.
Gavin,
Check out the Rammax specs. It would have been a handy unit in tight spots...counter-rotating tracks like a larger machine.

Finally got the old scanner working enough to show this since we're on the subject of compact traxcavators.
Its not all that much heavier than the Rammax machine - operational weight with a multi-purpose bucket is 2.8tons. Standard bucket is described as a "ladle shaped bucket", machine weight rises to just over 3tons with this fitted The machine also has a low overall travelling height of only 57".
Smalley built alot of specialist machinery over the years; tailor-designed rigs for unusual jobs and this loader was apparently designed to work in culverts!!
I did actually see one of these on eBay years back, which was the first time I knew Smalley had built such a machine. I remember it being described as a "unique vehicle". Very appropriate in this case!

Gavin,
that's an interesting machine. The name is familiar, but the picture is not.
Just goes to show,when there's a need,someone will supply.
You could call it a " Compaxcavator".....

That Rammax loader, does the operator have their feet out side of the cab?

Certainly looks like it, although I'm sure conventional skid steer loaders are little different in that respect.
http://www.lucidstar.net/heavymetal/trackloaders/komatsuD415.jpg
This is one of a couple of pictures I took of a Komatsu D41S track loader some years back during some landscaping work. They had a Samsung SE210LC-3, a Bomag BW135AD double drum compactor and a Daewoo Solar 170W-III wheel excavator on the same site as well as a CAT 953B track loader. I'm not sure how you could tell a D41S-3 from a D41S-2 or whatever. I'm fairly certain it was the last time I saw on of their "dozer shovels". IIRC Komatsu ceased production of them at around 1992/93?
