that's exactly what we need at work... we have a 420EIT and it's just too damn small. we need a machine that's like a 924g on the loader end and a 320C for the hoe end... we had a hard time butting 12" watermain pipe with that 420E with the extandaboom all the way out it has no freakin' power in the boom.

Yes that is a big one...........the digging depth is 21.4' with the ext. a hoe out
:jawdrop I noticed the new cats kind of copied the 310SG back end..............

If you mean the extendable stick, I think Cat did take a serious look at Deere's design, but that stick was due for an overhaul anyhow. Of the top three manufacturers of BHLs in the US, two of them used a sliding outer stick. (Now all three do.)

I agree whole heartedly, that is the better design........outer out!

I heard a rumor today from one of our mechanics that were going to be buying a 450E as soon as their available. Our company hasn't been pleased with the durability of their 710's over the years. We have 8 or 9 old 710D's that spend more time with people under them then in them. And it seems our 710G's are too little too late. Most of our fleet is Cat and it sounds like they want to take our precious 710's away.

I attached a picture of our newest G, and one of our sad D......who knows maybe the 450 will be an improvement for us.

Is it because of the oversized bucket in the first picture....:D

Oversized? Noooooo, didn't you know the 7 in 710 stood for 7 cubic yard loader bucket?

We were bored and I figured "yeah that bucket will fit the 710". What didn't fly well was when the operator of the backhoe went to get a bucket of sand and blew a hydraulic line on the lift cylinder.

The 450 still does not spec as well as the 710j. They are both dam big backhoes.

What part doesn't spec as well? I thought the breakouts and physical dimensions were about even?

That loader bucket looks like it could dent up real easy.

Looks like a JCB, and that loader looks like it would suuuuuck. I have been fooling around with a JCB 3CX the last couple days and whatt hey taught me in college has been ringing true the entire time. I learned about cylinders and hydraulic systems and it never seemed like a big deal to me but that whole thing about that cylinders retract faster than they extend and they have more breakout force extending rather than retracting is sooooo true.

If you look at Deere, Cat (non IT) and Case all their bucket cylinders extend to curl the bucket and retract to dump. The JCB's have almost no real breakout force to speak of.

that's interesting about your breakout theory..... but just looking at the specs its at little different.

Cat 9,185
Case 9,480
Deere 8,500
JCB 11,730

I spent some time moving piles with the JCB today.... I guarantee it doesnt have the best breakout force in the industry..... that thing couldn't scrape the slime off rice pudding!

That probably explains why every piece of JCB equipment you see pics of in England have super small buckets on them.

you have not seen many then, most have a 4 in 1 bucket with integrated pallet forks ,my last jcb front bucket was 1.1 m3 capacity , if you have the machine with a quickfit front bucket that reduces breakout force, most of the us jcb versions i have seen have a differant linkage setup for the front bucket
i could pick packs of pipe up on the forks with a 3cx contractor ,that the 580 super m case could not as his back wheels left the ground :beatsme

Tegian

It is a Swedish machine. A "Huddig 1260" weights in at 12.8 metric tons with a 157hp Cummins disel under the hood.

www.huddig.se will provide you with the info, pictures and pdf brochures (In english for the ones having trouble with their swedish ***)

Only complaint I ever heard about the Huddig machines is that they cost an arm and a leg (And some more!) something in neighbourhood of 300'000$. But you do get lots of bells and whistles for that. Options include radiocontroll (Quite spooky to watch those things run with anyone in the cab!) and a lift with 67feet reach.

Very common as "linje-maskin" / (power)line-machine. With a lift and an assortment of buckets and a plow you can put up powerlines up in poles or dig/plow them into the ground with bringing a whole convoy of machines with you.

looks like ur 710 has the same duty as ours, hoe packing, you could definatly put a bigger plate on the back though, those look a little small. What have been your issues with the G model?

Burnout
01-28-2008, 11:25 AM
Nooooooo no more big hoe packs on the 710's. We played that game already. Those are 30" plates on those machines. That G model had a bigger one on it and everytime you went up a slight incline the front end was off the ground. They bought that small one and had it matched to the machines hydraulic system so it actually packs nicer than most the other hoes.

The problems with the G have been, bad computer, hydraulic leaks out the ying yang, the belt tensioner went, and the front axle is frigged. No 4wd which is kind of a problem with us. She just crossed over 3700hrs and it was bought in May 06.
