Hi Guys / Gals.

My name is Joe aka wethead

I am not a full time driver / operator BUT love heavy machines since I was a young kid.

I have operated many machines like skid steers, small dozers / back hoes etc , but not on a professional level.

I do however love the industry and like I said above the whole 'earthmoving" experience thing thrills me.

The way I found this forum was just by googling "heavy equipment forums" ....

And guess what :)

So anyway, I figured I could join and get to know some of the real guys and gals that do this everyday and get some good stories, some great pics and learn some cool stuff from all you folks.

I recently just decided to start my own heavy equipment website as well,, since I like this industry so much

I am from Rochester NY, I have 6 kids and married.

I am a webmaster / coder / Pool guy & Plumber by trade

Thats how I got my "limited" thrills on the machines I mentioned above.

I look forward to meeting and chatting with you all..

Oh sorry for the longggggg intro,

I just like to share who I am :)

Happy Holidays to all as well!

Feel free to ask me anything as well, that I might have missed

~Joe

Hey I'm not far from you. I am desperately looking to get into the industry as an operator. I am at a complete loss at finding a start. Know of anything close, and that will take a female seriously? I've worked 5 months as a flagger and laborer and loved it but they refuse to give me a chance to advance

Sugarbritches, Do not let being a female slow you down in any industry! Prior to going to medical school I worked in the construction industry and knew a female carpenter that was better than anyone else around.

Welcome to you all! Sugarbritches, we have a lady, and I don't use that term in jest, running a D-11 at our mine. She got hired as a truck driver with no expierience and worked her way up. She's one heck of a good hand. Hang in there and look into mining, there is a great need in the industry right now.
