Yes folks, today is Veteran's Day, a holiday often overlooked and seen as just another day off from the grind or a reason to go shopping.
In respect of those who have given and many who still give so much, take a few moments from your day to give thanks and prayers to those preserving freedom, wherever it may be.
As far back as I was first able to read, I can recall seeing bumper stickers "If you love your freedom, thank a Vet!". The message still rings true today.
Thank you U.S. Veterans!!
Well said Steve!
Thank you to all Veterans!

Bringing this thread to the top...
Sometime in the past decade or so, it finally occured to me that, unlike so many of our holidays, the people that this holiday is supposed to honor, are walking among us. Since then, I've made it a point to personally thank those people who I know to have served, for their role in guaranteeing me the freedoms that I, like so many others, take so much for granted. (I regret the fact that I didn't come to realize that until after my Dad had passed away. I don't think I ever personally thanked him.)
If you are reading this, and are a veteran, thank you.
Could not of said it any better Digger!
Lest we forget...
In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Bringing this one to the top again.
My sincere thanks to all who have served, for the freedoms we all enjoy, and still all take for granted.:notworthy
