I use this to change the file size of photos. Also, be sure you specify jpeg format, the files are smaller than bitmap.

After you've resized, when you click "Save as" a window should pop up with the resolution. Reduce the resolution until the file is the desired size.

Hey jimmyjack, I'm no Bill Gates by any means, but what I do is I scan my photos, then save 'em in "my pictures". I then click onto any desired picture in that file, I click "edit" in my toolbar, and it automatically brings me to the place that will resize them down for HEF to accept. To go one step fancier, open "paint" program so you can put wording under or over top of each photo, and hit "save". You probably know all this already, but I'm just sharing the love, brother.
I do a lot of posting along with a bunch of other guys, on a site associated with auto repairs...and that site takes ANY size photo, unlimited amounts. Kind of cool, I wonder if one day when we grow up here at HEF, could we have something like that?:beatsme

There are a number of reasons the photos are restricted to the size they are. One is bandwidth use at the server level. Another is to keep the file size at a level that loads in a reasonable amount of time for everyone, some of our members do not have access to high speed connections. And finally, I don't want photos that are so large that you need to scroll your screen to view it. I absolutely detest photos that I can't view all at once, you won't see them here.
