I've been made aware of a problem that exists with AOL emails through the server that carries this Board. Apparently on your email page, the "delete" and "Report as Spam" icons are next to each other and it is very easy to hit the "Report" button by mistake. Each time this happens AOL files a complaint with my server. It has happened enough times that my server has warned me that the Board will not be able to send email (read thread reply notification) if it continues.
I've assured my server that we are not engaged in sending spam but they are not flexible in their policy. I intend to send an explanation to AOL in the hope that they will ignore spam complaints that come from this site but I haven't had much luck in dealing with AOL in the past. My server has suggested I not allow emails sent to AOL members, but I'd like to avoid that so you all may continue to receive thread notices. We currently have 120 AOL members registered here.
What I need from all of you is in 2 parts. First, use extra care when deleting an email so that the "Report spam" icon is not clicked. Second, please let AOL know of the situation. They may be more responsive to their customers than they are to me, and perhaps you can suggest they make a change to the email page so the icons are further apart.
I'll keep you posted on any developments in this matter.
