I don't think those are Bs the trucks look too new they might be 3406C or E unless they are not the original engines. Even the little 3306B smokes black like that if you honk on it.
Crazy french canadians whoops did I say that I'am french canadian but don't speak french

I don't know how they keep the driveshafts and rears in them when they have the trailer on.
The way you get more power from diesels is dump more fuel in them with bigger pumps and injectors. Throw a bigger turbo on to raise boost pressures and you can add more fuel. Those are the basics, there are more technical things to do as well.

I was thinking the same thing, how do those rears not blow apart, and how doesnt it get deshafted. Those trailers must be empty or lightly loaded. They are running WAY overfueled,EGTS must be thru the roof, unless they arecooling with water.I can imagine the torque and HP they must be making with those big motors.I know my little cummins makes 600rwhp,and close to 1200ft lbs at the wheels, and its a baby 5.9.A 14+ liter Cat must make in excess of 4000ft lbs of torque.

Not for nothing, but am I the only one who sees a problem with spectators lining up behind Jersey barriers or pipe fencing??? That's a disaster waiting to happen!
That Pete pulling the lumber has a Detroit in it, sounds pretty cool. I still don't understand how the rears or driveshafts stay in them. I hauled gravel for a number of years and it didn't take much to blow a rear with the stock horsepower. These guys are gear jammin' for all they're worth, very stressful to a drive train.
I was on the ramp to the GWB one afternoon on the Jersey side and riding next to a sea container truck. That thing must have been super heavy, because when he tried to start on the hill, the left fron wheel came up. he got to do that once, on the first shift the driveshaft got spit out from under the truck.

Those trucks with the plywood and lumber are easily grossing 125-130,000lbs each trailer can carry 20 ton being super Bs. They must be running Super 40s or Rockwell 46s no way regular 40,000lb rear axles can take that.
The enviromentalists would have a xxxxx fit if they seen that
All that black smoke polluting the air

My LTL9000 has a 3406 E @ 475 HP and 4.5 AMPG! It has 46K Rocks and an 8LL in to a 4:33 drive gear! Won't be the first off the highway, but in the city, I'll pull away from most and haul well over legal since my GVW is 34500!
