i have had one valve fall to pieces ,we had this earlier in the year
we were pressure testing a 400 metre long run of 315 mm sdr 11 and it would not hold the test
we had four possible joints and as always it was the last one we dug on :Banghead
the pressure would drop to 4 bar from 16
we found a flaw in the casting

What a pain... I hate leaks so hard to find, it costs so much more money.... That was completely unforeseable. Do you guys use a lot of C-900 in the UK? In New York it is pretty much unheard of but i know in the rest of the country it is quite popular. How well do the Megalugs work for it? Do you guys need to use thrust blocks or rod the joints?

the 28 different water company's in the UK all use different fittings and manufactures
we always thrust block ,unless the bends etc are PE welded ones
here are a few pictures of recent connections
i much prefer to use PE with welded flanges for fittings etc ductile iron is ok for straight runs with no obstacles :D
we have been using a mcelroy bf 500 tracstar welding 355mm sdr11 and we are impressed with the ease of use no more lugging individual bit of kit around :notworthy
cheers graham
