I traded for an old Finn straw blower. Im putting a new engine on it to use in my business. Ive never seen one like it. It has a mat chain to feed it slices of the bale into the end of the blower instead of the side like most of the others ive seen. Its powered off a gear box on the side of the machine that is run by a rachet. Its old as it has the tar nozzles on the end ofthe chute. I gave 150 for it and a friend gave me a good motor. Ive been cutting off some of the crap work don to it to make it look better. I thing the convey was adjustable at one time Im building it back to be. Has anyone seen one like this? and werethey much good. Not really enough work here to buy a new one and Ive got lots of time right now to rebuild this one. Take care Taylor Lambert

So there's another one out there ? Yes ,we have one where I work .
It's still useable and ready to go . I can't recall any problems other than the usual wear and tear . Just keep the tie wire and twine away from the shredder chains , LOL . The disengagement on the straw feed ratchet used to be controlled by an electric solenoid . It went bad and wasn't availible anymore so it just runs all the time . It will blow straw a long ways though !
I don't know about yours but ours has a GM power steering pump mounted on the main shaft that is used to power the discharge chute up and down as needed . Powerd by an International UD diesel ( 6 cyl ) . Sounds like a twin to ours that you have . A really good buy I'd say !

Thats what I was thinking that theres really another one. This one is a bit smaller had a 4 cylinder wisconsin. the motor was bad and the tree service wanted it for there grinder. the ratchet had gone bad and a fellow that worked there weled a Craftsman ratchet to the shaft on the conveyor. I got another bit bigger motor for it with a hand clutch.Ive gotto adapt the outputs in them Was your conveyor adjustable? I think this one was at one time had some sledge hammer mechanics working on it one time so I there s alot of unsightly welds to I cut off and put in new struts and things like that. Thanks for your reply Taylor Lambert

The conveyor on ours has a 4 ft extension . That puts the end about 1 ft over the truck bed (C60 chevy flatbed) . The feed chute has a spring loaded presser arm that keeps the straw bale tight to the chain to ensure steady flow of straw . Next time I'm down to the old shop I'll take a pic of the old relic and it's illustrious features !
Sledgehammer mechanic , LOL . When all you have is a hammer , every problem begins to look like a nail !

What we have is a Finn Mulcher . Heavily used in the past and still operable . Mostly unguarded . Will shoot straw upwards of 50 - 60 ft.
