hi, i just joined recently, and apparently this forum doesn't let you post new threads until you post replies 3x.
anyway, this is somewhat relevant to what i wanted to say..

i'm trying to find more detailed pictures of a certain crane. i don't really know the model number, but i know what it looks like. it's a P&H 'omega' crane, it looks a lot like the one in the pictures above. i have a couple links too

this particular model has a lot of sentimental value to someone, and i want to try to paint a lego model to look like it (technic 8270), and give it to him as a present.
any help would be appreciated.

thanks!
the paint looks different,.. but it helps nonetheless. i was specifically looking for the one painted with like.. the boom painted black and the um.. the area where the operator sits(?) painted white and black, like the pictures i linked above.

but thanks anyway. by the way, what's the model number for that crane?
also.. ..what do you think? do you think i could make the lego look like the crane?

Not to sure what kind of pics your looking for. The two you supplied were pretty good. That looks like an Omega 40 in your photos and we have one. Here are a few pics. I have some others I think but will have to dig them out. Let me know.

thanks! yes, those are definitely the ones. omega 40, you say?

i was googling that, and i came up on something even better.
a company named 'conrad' makes plastic models of heavy machinery.
would you happen to know where i can buy these??

i found their main website, but it's not in english. it's difficult to navigate..

I know they used to have models of this Crane. The owner of the Company I work for used to have one on his desk. It was a limited run and have long been sold out. I did see one on Ebay a while back but it was an Omega 20. One winch, little counterweight and different outriggers than the 40. It might be a start though. You might check over on the DHS site. They sell Conrad models and someone on the forum may have an idea. If I run across anything I'll let you know. Here's a link to the DHS site. A link towards the lower left will take you to the forums.

thanks lashlander, you're a great help. i'm requesting the forum account now.

i'm not sure if the crane my dad used to drive is a 20 or 40, but he told me it looked just like those.

i looked on ebay just now, and i found one, but it's in UK, and it's gona cost me over $50 after shipping.. :[
and i can't seem to find any of those on the product pages on dhs.com
but i will try asking there as soon as i can.

thanks again for your help

DHS has a sister site called ADM. The just received two huge collections on consignment and are posting them for sale. I looked there but there is no Omegas yet. You might want to keep a eye out there also.

The Grove RT's are fun to operate. I even had me youngest boy in the upstairs with me one day just watch him get excited (and win a bet with him operating). Have only been on a few Rt's and lots of fun once you get use to it.

I believe that is the luckiest operator pic I have ever seen - even trumps the D10 on the cliff.
